by shredding I mean you write so much irrelavent crap it makes people trying to participate in the forum feel dumber for reading and looking at your jumping men and leaving praying they are not poisoned by the subliminal messages in your posts the just emphasize the word "WETARDED" and most of us dont want to be "WETARDED" but thanks for your input it made about as much sence as me having to wipe 9 times after 1 duece/

        Mike,

I have had similar experiences, months back when the initial cleansing began.

Even started a similar thread in an attempt to start an educational dialogue about te nature of "relatedness" .. is it purely semantic, must it match the title , in a hub about TV's would an armchair, a remote control, a cozy blanket and some rabbit ears on ebay be "related"

In many ways the policy as I have seen it enforced is lacking a bit smile ... rather than claim idiocy I asked what level of experience or what guidelines staff are following, i never got much of  response.

My case study would involve a hub that would have the target audience of "ebay sellers" ... it would have a year or so of existence before "relatedness" of products began to become an unpublishable offense ... the hub would be info based rather than product centered.

It would conclude with ebay options that centered around the hubpages offered keyword based search and display capability using keywords related to "lots" ... what the lots are ,, is actually meaningless .. as my target reader enjoys purchasing lots of widgets and breaking them into smaller portions for a profit.

My personal analytics and ebay conversions showed that my traffic enjoyed the selections I made and my personal experience as a former powerseller made me not very open to the uninformed opinions of any naysayer as to why my product selection was appropriate.

Thats my case study - i moved the hub, kept it just as is and moved on with my life.

But it really pointed out two important issues to me and you have touched on them also ..

        1. HP offers a keyword based product search - sellers on amazon/ebay could very easily use an odd phrasing or title a product that is unrelated that has matching keywords.

At no fault of the page(hub) designer a product could appear that is not as intended .. such as an inflatable shark  ... should this be cause for a published work to be pulled from the web .. losing search placement, losing potential visitors and sales? .. of course not! its very likely that within  few days that dynamic search feed will be showing completely different product with no human involvement. It equally likely that the publisher doesnt even receive notification or have time to evaluate, interpret, change and resubmit a hub within a reasonable time .. that single unpublish could be the death knell for a page or hub.

idiotic is a mean word ... but it is silly and it does make the undesirable situation where use of any search terms could sabotage your work ... the alternative of individually selected products is equally undesirable as items go out of stock with sellers .. requiring a more constant babysitting of a hub then is desirable or necessary

You really cant win .. always one could be at the mercy of interpretation of what HP is considered "related"

        2.  Ive seen ipads and high demand items stuck on every hub a user makes .. i could see some issue with that being "unrelated" ... but otherwise such an interpretation should only be handled by someone who has an understanding of the mentality of the search traffic for each hub in question ... it would be very, very hard to have that understanding for the massive spectrum of topics that Hubpages carries .. and equally hard to imagine that those who would have such a comprehension would be content taking a paycheck for moderation job.

I dont get why everyone gets so up in arms when a fellow user vents in the forums. There is certainly cause for his frustration.

I a little frustrated to see two staff responses in a thread with such a title when so many more "civilized" and balanced discussions and requests involving tos and policy "interpretations" were filled with the sounds of crickets and quickly buried under a flood of word games and gibberish rants about the religion of the week or some silly yahoo news repost.

That was really long. Guess I have pent up Hub energy ... that I will not be using to write  a new hub.

          +1

It would therefore be more appropriate for moderators to look at the search terms you'd used in your eBay capsules rather than just making an on-the-spot decision based on a single item.

          Yup.

I had a similar experience a while back.  Wrote an excellent piece on deflated sharks, at least fifty words some of which weren't copied. and whacked a load of adverts on.

Didn't think too much about it until some jobsworth from HP said "blah blah crap blah".

I checked it out with my imaginary solicitor who said I couldn't afford to do anything.

So I wrote a very angry Hub about it and whacked a load more adverts on.

        Result!

You have nearly 500 people following you. Almost 400 hubs and yet one little hub that gets unpublished makes you want to throw it all away. While you have a lot of creative ability, sometimes it can be overshadowed by a lack of discipline and respect.

Look at all that you have accomplished via Hubpages for two years.

Why does a little slap on the bum bother you so much?

At least the time was taken make sure you are doing things right. Another thing is that you were given the chance to republish the 'offending' hub. Sometimes you just have to take the discipline in order to get to the next level. Remember there is a terms of service, and posting a thread such as this or a hub such as 'I was banned from Hub Pages Forums for pointing out their stupidity' won't get you any further than another slap on the bum.

I hope you work things out.

Nobody calls people 'idiots' in Canada. It's not polite. We call them 'special'. It's a lot better though sometimes confusing. I think we have lots of really special people participating in forums... big_smile

Back to Hubpages staff, h-m-m, don't see anything special. Don't even look like our MPs, not even close, sorry. big_smile
