For how many generations do you need to cut the tails of mice to get mice with short tails?
Why would you want to do that? Mice need their tails for balance.
You know, I always wondered about this. I asked my cat what he thought. He said no need to worry about it, and licked his chops.
I think this study was done by the Russians during the Soviet area. It takes 49,368 generations.
Their research project needs to be duplicated. Anyone interested?
The only way that would work would be if cutting off their tails actually killed the mice. Then, only mice born with shorter tails would be left alive to breed and pass on their short-tailed DNA.
well, if you think that a physical alteration will change a mouse's dna, i predict you are going to have a lot of bloody tail stumps around your house.
As cells of tails of mice are diploid and are the tail length is not genetically determined character so there is no effect of cutting tails of mice to get short tailed mice over generations of generation. Not only tails, but also ears, legs and all physical features cannot have such effect. But if you change or alter the cell that takes part in breeding like gonad cells then obviously the offspring may have changed.

Why do ladies cut their hair so short as they age?I've noticed I almost never see a woman over 60 with long hair, even when they look like they are in great shape and wouldn't have trouble keeping it up. Why is this? Is this the average or just what I have been seeing?

What does it mean when some people say "We are the product of our time".Our values, the way we live are mold by personal circumstances or there are more bigger structures which are beyond us that is why we are, the way we are?

I cut her nails but only a tiny bit because I fear I may cut the quick! I know her nails could...
