Who is the greatest rappers ever to walk the earth?

I wanna know who is the greatest rappers to roam the earth... From the birth of rap to the present. From Tupac and Biggie to Lil Wayne and 50 Cent...

Tupac and Biggie are the greatest of all time, Bone Thugs, Twista, and T.I. are awesome, I think I would have to say that Eminem and his posse have locked down the rap game for the present.

Its so many. But for me here it is,RUN DMC,ERIC-B&RAKIM,BIG DADDY KANE,LL.COOL J,Public ENEMY,SALT & PEPA,M.C Lite,QUEEN LATIFFA,N.W.A,OUTCAST,TUPAC,BIGGIE,and the one who is at the top of the game right now SLIM SHADY.50 cent and LIL wayne Don't even make the top twenty, you can sell albums and all that but neither 50,or Lil wayne, could survive  in a real cypher a freestyle battle for respect,If you are a emcee you know what I'm talking about.I like their music, and have some of their albums, but they couldn't survive a cypher battle with a hungry up and coming emcee.know what I mean?

50 Cent is the most entertaining rapper ever in my opinion but not the greatest. What I mean by that is that if a 50 Cent interview comes on I will watch it because he says some off the wall hilarious stuff.

    Big Daddy Kane
    Nas
    Tech N9ne
    Chamillionaire
    Run DMC
    2-Pac
    Biggie

greatest is hard, i think i'd have a hard time doing a top 20.

LL Cool J, 50 Cent, and Lil Wayne are far from being the greatest.  First of all, LL Cool J is forgotten for the most part.  50 Cent's short reign has already fizzled out as far as i'm concerned.  Lil Wayne has some good hits, but when you use a synthesizer or other vocal equipment to change your voice then your not the one rapping.

Jim Carrey says some hilarious stuff in interviews too, I'm pretty sure that doesn't make him a great/entertaining rapper.
As a rapper, one's job is not only to make people laugh in interviews, or else Fat Joe would be up there too. 50 Cent might be a funny guy, but as a rapper his value is near ZERO, and regardless of his supposed or not funniness, his entertainment value is dropping as well, since more and more hip-hop fans are getting bored by his tiresome texts and rehashed punchlines. The same goes for Lil' Wayne, by the way.

Melle Mel, Cowboy, Grandmaster Caz, DMC, Rakim, MC Lyte, KRS-One, Kool G. Rap, Chill Rob G, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Chuck D, Ice Cube, Posdnous, Method Man, Kool Keith, MC Eiht, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., Ghostface, Kool Moe Dee, Nas, Everlast, Ice T, GZA, Styles P, Large Professor, Q-Tip, Chubb Rock, Erick Sermon, Big L, MC Ren, Kam, Pharaohe Monch, Scarface, O.C., Mos Def, Eminem...the list goes on but those are some of the best in terms of being an all-around emcee and elevating the art form, in my opinion. By the way, I don't care much for Em but have to admit objectively that he is a vast talent.

I am a big fan of Tupac and Run DMC, so for me they are the greatest of all time. However, to find out what is the greatest rapper  or rappers of all time, you should consider your likes.

Dre, Dre, and then Dre are my top three.  Eminem, Tupac, Fitty, and a few others fall somewhere behind the master of beats.....
