Does anyone actually enjoy the fast and furious franchise anymore?

I personally dislike all of them except the first one. I mean, since when did not having a plot or stroyline ever become popular in movies? cars + explosions + bad acting = seriously lame! agree? disagree?

No the second one sucked granted you are right there but the first one was good and tokyo drift was good and by the time the cast was re-united in the 4th one they knew that they weren't too good for it anymore.

The new one coming out looks awesome if you can't appreciate nice cars and big production value go watch an independent film instead.

I loved the first one, but then they just kept coming back with a different version of the same story in each sequel. This current one looks like it might be as good as the first one. But since I haven't seen it, I can't really say..

I only ever liked the first movie, the rest of them seemed strained in a way.  I like the spyder in the second movie though, I think it was the second one anyway.  Oh and the hemi's.  If I watched the movies just for the cars I'd probably be more interested.

Fast cars, great sounding rev's, a petrol heads delight, all thats missing is the smell.... ever gone to the cinema on the first release night,  all the boy racers and petrol heads and car heads come to our local cineplex its like a car show rammed wall to wall tetestrone, its a great, god knows how many break the speed limit, etc and don't look to leaving anytime soon but it is a real laugh and good atmosphere!!
We, my husband, and his family all went all in our seperate cars (real green) but what a buzz!!!

    Can't wait for 5

I never liked any of them. it seems like a new one comes out every year and nobody goes and sees them. why do they still make more of these movies?

I like the "Fast and the Furious" series. They're worth watching, I think. smile

Edit: Oh, that's as long as they keep starring Vin Diesel and the other guy that played Bryan, who's the name again? smile

Looking forward to seeing Fast5. Out of the series, the first one was the best. I'm a fan of fast cars and show cars.

The franchise hasn't been the same since Michelle Rodriguez was written out, that could of course be just me.

Asking if we enjoyed them "Anymore" would imply that at somepoint someone enjoyed them in the first place.

And I'll admit, the first movie was entertaining. But then Transformers also has car chases but it's far more entertaining because those cars then turn into robots that blow stuff up.

I mean, sure, things blow up in F and the F, but this isn't about VIn Diesel's chest area.

They are entertaining but I must admit the best one is the first one.

well, consider this question - how much more unique can they get?? i mean, it's called the fast and the furious you have to expect fast cars, explosions, girls, etc. that's the formula for this movie and most action movies that come out around this time of year.

Heck ya! I can't wait for the new movie to come out. Plus if you follow Vin Diesel on Facebook (www.facebook.com/VinDiesel) - you get some pretty nice eye candy and updates about the making of the movie.

The answer to that is yes! Obviously if a movie has enough popularity to spawn 4 sequels there is a market for it.

I do need to update the original equation of the question from cars + explosions + bad acting = seriously lame! to

cars + explosions + bad acting = seriously lame+millions of dollars in profits

The F&F movies are Hollywood garbage personified! And Americans love it smile

I'm already waiting on line for the 6th movie "The Fastest and The Furious-est"

I think they are a "Guilty Pleasure" franchise. You don't need a story line or plot. You don't need to see the first 4 movies to enjoy this one. You know exactly what you get, and its in the title. Something Fast and Something Furious.

The franchise never promises anything other than that.

I still enjoyed it almost as much as the first time watching it. I think the sequels are fine . It was just as expected.

Fast 5 got me back into the franchise.  I enjoyed the others, but they were "wait until the Blu-ray or DVD comes out" movies.

But I'm seeing Fast 6 (whatever they call it) in the theaters.
