What are three specific qualities that a movie needs in order for you to really like it?
1. A Storyline that grabs and holds my attention
2. Good character developement
3. Makes me consider something in a new light
1) Relatable or interesting characters that I (the audience) can connect to.
2) An interesting plot or storyline, it doesn't have to be ground breaking but it has to hold my attention and not grate on my nerves.
3) Good visuals - this can come from incredible special effects or something simple like an interesting or exotic setting.
I think more goes into a great movie than those but to me those are the three basic qualities a good movie needs.
1) good entertainment value (I should not feel like walking away from it)
2) good acting ( this can be a definite deciding factor on how good a movie is)
3) believablity ( I do not like movies that do not have a path of logic to them)
#1 - Character Development - if you don't feel for the characters you're not going to care what happens to them.
#2 - A solid plot - no cheats - too many movies I've seen will make up their own rules as they go along. If something wasn't true in one scene, it can't be true three scenes later. (Especially referring to horror movies)
#2 - A good ending - So many movies anger me when the main character wakes up and it was all a dream, or that everything just falls together at the last moment and everyone lives happily ever after.
- A clever script
- Good acting
- Visual interest
I was going to say humour but I can't apply that to every movie I like.
3 musts for a movie are: I can't know what going to happen next, needs to have a great story line, and I need to believe the roles that the actors are playing.
Engaging and unique story (character development and all that)
GOOD ACTING (appropriate casting)
visually stylish, good camera work and use of frame space
A movie needs to touch our emotions and it need some humor in it.
Good acting. Bad ones can ruin any movie.
Unpredictability. I don't like knowing whats comimg next.
A moral. Otherwise, whats the point?
It needs to be funny, have a lot of action, and a bit of fantasy.
It's excellent in sounds, fantastic cinematography and the story is very good..
