Congratulations, there is nothing better than your first grandchild, almost better than your first child.  Far more fun, if they cry, are smelly, difficult you can give them back.  I have six of them, 3 girls and 3 boys and there is nothing better than a hug from a small boy who loves his Nana to bits! I hope you have a wonderful future with Elliot (Love that name).

Though I myself could never imagine I one day become a grandma, to me that is scary somehow, time flies, hitting 50 soon before knowing it sad

Thank you all for the wonderful thoughts and wishes and pictures!  It has been quite the week and a bit.  My daughter received her Masters in Education, had a baby, a seizure and moved from a condo into her very first new house all within seven days.  I was helping her mark papers when she went into labour so I abandoned my car, my keys and my dog at a corner store and off we went to the hospital (half an hour away) in her car.  Spent two days finishing packing up their condo, then the move and right in the middle of that she was discharged from hospital.  With the new family settled, grandma did a face plant!

Mum and baby are doing well and he is as cute as can be and if I could figure out how to post a picture on here....I would!
