CHOCOLATE!!!! & warm Foods & Beverages! I also love HOMEmade Foods they are so comforting
Coffee flavored ice cream on a sugar cone, chocolate, chicken pot pie, mac n cheese...it all depends upon the severity of my comfort requirements.
Your picture says it all: Wine, chocolate--good, dark, slightly bitter chocolate. An Ice cream and beer float on those exceptionally bad days brings comfort. When the cupboards are bare and I'm in need of a comfort food fix, plain old chocolate chips and sunflower seeds can brighten my day.
Bourbon. Fried chicken. Peanut butter on toast.
Can anyone tell I'm from the south?
Bread and cheese--any combination of those two: grilled cheese sandwich, tuna melt, nachos & cheese, etc. They are filling and comforting for me--and I suppose also warming. Usually, when I need something to comfort me on the inside it is in combination with needing to be warmed on the outside as well.
Ikura - salmon roe sushi
toasted bagels and lox with cream cheese and onions. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Those are my Power foods.
Comfort - when stomach is queasy is chicken soup - of course!
Sometimes there is nothing like Wasa multi-grain crispbread with butter and honey. Yummy!
mashed potatoes, butternut squash soup, lemon cream scones.

Winters not far off now - where I live at least. It's the time of year to enjoy some warming comfort foods... I'm looking forward to beef and beer pie with suet pastry, roast potatoes, veg and a nice thick beefy gravy...
