I love both these types of foods. If I had to choose, I would have to go with Mexican food. I love food that is hot and spicy. I also love to experiment with mixing the two types of food to create a special dish. And it does work!
I made a mexican version of Manicotti this past weekend and it turned out awesome.

Which is your favorite? Mexican? Italian?

Depends on the definition of Mexican food, I would choose Tex-Mex over a California style of Mexican food.

Yes I was happy Dallas won at the end, but...the running game and defense made it happen. Dallas should go more with the run.
And I love food and to cook!!!! So from time to time I come to this forum.

Well...since Mexican is just every day eating for me...I'll go with Italian as the winner to fine dining out...and/or just plain ol' comfort food. BTW...Da' Boys managed to pull it out in the Second 1/2 last nite!?! I know your happy about that!

I have a good diversity of fish in my dish.
Last sunday, for instance we regalated around a big tray of oysters. It was delicious with the nice cool Chablis we drank with.
Grilled sardines can taste like a gift from Neptune at the beginning of summer.
French and Chinese cooking can be excellent.
The wine you have with a dish or the cheese that comes at the end of the meal, can be determinating to its success.

I only really like a couple of "selected few items" from each, but I guess, for me, I have more "selected few items" that are Italian cuisine.

    you are lucky.  Serious question

when we cook italian dishes, we put the main ingredients as meat, but when we went to Italy, we got pasta dishes with hardly any meat in it..... how do you cook yours??????

Mainly pasta, fresh pasta not dried. The meat is minimal as well as the the sauce, thay are designed to accompany the pasta not to be equal or more then. I do eat pineapple on pizza though, which is a big no no, apparently I am ruining the pizza! big_smile

Since most of my recipes are Italian, I have to go with Italian.  But, I do like some Mexican recipes.  I'm just not fond of extremely spicy or hot foods.  I can't eat those.

When it comes to Mexican...FOOD...I prefer the authenthic over Tex-Mex myself. I like to make my own over a restuarant meal. Chili Relleno is one of my very favorite to make, but they are messy. And I can eat enchiladas all day long.
In Italian foods, I love lasagna, manicotti and stuffed ravioli. In Italian food though, there is the original Italian recipes compared to the American italian recipes.

I love a good Mexican dish with a huge Margarita or a good Italian dish with a bottle of wine.   Hard to choose, but I think Mexican wins!

Well, when I'm feeling spicy I will cook Mexican or something from the Abruzzi or Apulia regions of Italy. On days when I'm feeling Tuscanish I'll cook something from Tuscany or Umbria. I'm an equal opportunity eater and love both cuisines.
