How long do homemade cookies stay fresh?

I am doing my Christmas baking. Will my cookies be fresh still on Dec 25 (8 days from now) or should I freeze them?

as well as putting them in an airtight container, just give then a few minutes in a hot oven. Commercial biscuits are always double baked.

Storing your Christmas cookies in metal cookie tins, with wax paper inside wrapped around the cookies will help keep them fresher longer.

It depends on the cookie and how you store them.  From experience Pizzelles are still fresh after 6 months.  I lost them and they were wrapped a dozen in foil and stored in a tupperware container.  When I found them they were just as fresh as when I made them for Christmas.  Some cookies require you to put an apple slice or date in them to keep them fresh when you store them in a cookie tin.  They should last a month.

I say freeze them and I commend you for your willpower - I would have to bake more because those would have been eaten.

The freshness of cookies depends on the quality of cookies as well as the process implemented to store them.

Try to store them in metal tins, which must be air locked and store in a dry place. It keeps them fresh.

homemade cookies can stay fresh for up to a couple of weeks if you store them properly, or maybe even freeze them and they will last a REALLY long time!
