What is the most memorable meal you've eaten while traveling?

It can be new, exotic or a restaurant that specializes in a fun food experience:

Turkey, Istanbul, Kebab. I chose kebab because it was the best one I ever eat. They add so much spices and vegetables, it doesn't only taste great, but its also healthy.

Oh, I love kebabs, but have only had the 'American' cooked Mideastern style.  Any food with a wonderful combination of flavors that make our mouths explode is fun! ha ha.  Thanks for your opinion.  smile

All that I can think of McDonald's when I was moving between states. Probably a Big Mac, vanilla shake, fries and apple pie. If more then I do not remember.

That is interesting.  FF is always a great standby when you are tired and hungry.  I hope you've experimented with other restaurants now, lol    Thanks for your comment.

Denise.....While in Europe for the first time, I had the great opportunity to have so many fabulous "Authentic" dishes, it was like Heaven.  But Germany was and still is No. One for me.   Weiner Schnitzel with Spetzula!........OMG.....I can taste this exquisite meal just thinking about it.  I ordered it every time and LOVED it........Simply have never been able to find it made quite the same here in the States, even at an allegedly "German Restaurant,"  but I'll never give up trying!

It's always fun to keep chasing after that elusive flavor, isn't it?  I was just in conversation with a friend of mine about this subject.  His memory was of a seafood dish he tasted in Oceanside CA.  smile  Thanks-hope you find it someday.

When my husband and I, along with my sister and her husband went to Cancun.  We found the Hard Rock CafĂ©.  I am thinking we had a Hamburger which was a reminder of home....it was good after experiencing other foods.

Hard Rock Cafe restaurants are so much fun.  Reminds me of when my 6 yo grandson was visiting one and played with a couple of the Rock stars walking around.  He was ecstatic!   Hamburgers?  Always a classic!  Thanks for your comment.  smile

It was when I tasted my first lasagna. The taste was just heavenly, egg, cheese, pasta and different sauces and spices all blended into the most perfect ratio. After that, I had lasagna whenever I had the chance, but the first time was most memorable smile

Like the first time of any experience, it is the one that makes the memory!  Lasagna-wow, you've described the combo of flavors here so well, I could just taste it myself!  YUM!  Thanks for your contribution.

My first visit to Key West a friend suggested I try Gator Bites. I'm not a foodie and would not ordinarily eat an alligator, but I did and I liked them! Deep fried gator bites. They taste like chicken, (doesn't everything) and had a bit tougher consistency. Since then, I've eaten them a couple more times. That's about as daring as I've got smile
