My wife makes a serious roasted chicken dinner with mash potatoes&gravey, biscuits, fresh veggies and tonite Strawberry cream pie! I am seriously going to hurt myself!

My OH makes fab roast dinners as well.  His variant consists of roast chicken, roast potatoes/sweet potatoes and fresh veg (leeks, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots...).  I make the gravy though, because I do better gravy than he does!

BTW, what are biscuits?  In my part of the world they're what you call cookies.  But somehow I don't think chocolate Hobnobs form part of your roast dinner...

Biscuits are kind of like dinner rolls...a type of savory bread. Kind of dense but fluffy at the same time. They're really good.

ETA: Let's see, they're made out of flour, salt, shortening (or butter, and milk (buttermilk is very good).

Ooh, they do sound nice actually - sort of like a pastry-dumpling type thing.  Just the job for cold winter nights.

Hehehe. Well, you know, us southern gals gotta make sure to spread the word about biscuits. Especially with gravy.

        Good luck with your writing!

Too many to mention...he actually taught me how to cook. 1st thing that comes to mind though is his deliciously brown sugar glazed and juicy ham, THE best potato salad in the world, and to die for candied yams!!!....now I'm hungry. =/

BBQ Does that count as cooking?  When I met him, he did all the cooking.  He wanted to eat real food.  Now I do all the cooking and he just does the BBQ.

My hubby has a much more limited repertoire than I do, but what he cooks, he cooks very well. In particular, my family calls him the Shish Kebab God, because his kebabs are incredible.

He also does these steamed meat dumplings, kind of like Chinese potstickers, that are wonderful. He cooked some for our landlady back when we had one and before she tasted them she was saying she only wanted one or two. After tasting them, she ended up eating 15! They are that good. smile

Hey Kerryg they sound amazing! My claim to fame is my fried egg sandwiches. I scramble eggs and a dash of milk mix in some sauteed green peppers and onions. Then I grill some slices of a country loaf(fancy whitebread) and add two slices of Virgina ham. I usually add hashbrowns. We do breakfast for dinner quite often.smile

Anything my wife makes is my favorite!  I can't complain as she spends the time and effort to prepare the food.
