Why would you ever delete a hub?

   Sure it might not be getting traffic, but why would you ever delete it? Is there a benefit?

      I have pondered this question on some of my underperforming early efforts, but am determined to polish, polish, edit, add, work and work until they can produce some amount of value.

      I can see reasons, like if you sell the work elsewhere and they want it exclusively.

      Why would you not delete one that needs to be re-worked and reposted.
      Perfection can never be achieved but there are few things that can't be improved.

   I have deleted one of my early efforts. When I re-read it, it wasn't very good at all so I binned it.

   Even if the hub gets few visitors it can still have value to provide links to your other hubs and elsewhere... So personally I would try to keep it, especially as I am tending to make my hubs in groups..

   I have a website and I deleted some of my best hubs and just put them on my own website.  No offense to hubpages but why should I put my best work on their website and share the profits.

   I think I deleted one, a while ago. I have deleted ones that I haven't published yet when I lose interest in the subject.

   Just keep bookmarking it, it will always get views and climb in Google? Change the titles if they aren't keywords, these are just a few things I do, I don't think I will delete any!
   I had one flagged before and had to change it a lot but still got it republished!

   I have a bunch that I've been waiting to delete.  I wrote them when I was new and didn't really know what I was doing, and they've been bugging me ever since.  I didn't want to delete any, though, until I built some more.  Some I'll leave, and some I've fixed up - but some I just don't want associated with me.

   Personally I dont see any reason to keep a dog hub around.  If it is not getting any views then I would think about deleting it and maybe changing the title and making a whole new hub out of it.  I seen some hubs that I wrote that when I went back and did keyword research they were in such a competitive niche that they got no chance.  I dont believe in wasting my time trying to backlink them as this may or may not work.  Might as well just go forward and spend my time writing new hubs that got a chance to compete.

    The main reason I didn't dump the ones I don't like is that they actually (and surprisingly) have some pretty decent scores (for some reason).  They get their little traffic here and there, so the only they've been hurting is my self-respect.    I've been going back and forth between the "lots-of-Hubs-are-better" thinking and the "I-don't-want-to-see-those-loser-looking-Hubs" show up any more thinking.
    
    The one shock I got was discovering that they seem to show up on the mobile version of HubPages!     On the "regular" version of HubPages there's the latest, the best, etc. - so the losers tend to disappear everywhere but on the "my account" page.
    
    The mobile version is far different, and I went there I saw that - like - all the ones I think are "giant losers" (writing-wise/quality-wise) seemed to show up on the first page (and you can't even get to things like "latest", "best", etc., as far as I can see.  I just have to tell myself that my Hubs aren't the kind that anyone (who isn't me) is likely to be reading them on their phone.

    Well, when a hub becomes total garbage, and you're pissed off about it then you should delete it.  If you have the patience to keep crap then keep it.  If not get rid of it.
    
    Or Fix it.  Make that crap better by putting more effort into it.  Course more effort may pan out it may not, it's pretty much a crap shoot.  No pun intended.
