God Said and gave us an example of when to be baptized. He was the example, when was he baptized. He was bless as a baby, but baptized as a young man.
Catholics are "claimed for God" through baptism at infancy and welcomed cerimonialy into the RCC , however Catholics must choose to become confirmed in their baptismal vows as a young adult.
Baptism is a symbol of Obedience to God as your Lord and Master, not a Guarantee into heaven....
all Beliefs believe in and undergo a form of Baptism, one is no more correct than the other????
Ask you own Pastor, if he is truthful he will educate you to facts about it.
Again this is another post of yours to separate and claim one perfect belief over another, with no basis but your own sects personal emphasis on the books. Your own interpretation only.
Try uniting folks for a change under God, instead of claiming one way is perfect.
You seem in-capable of uniting, but very good at separation and dis-content. a main reason why religion is a turn off to many. This is a shame, what you do.
Yes Jesus was baptized as a young man. His fellowship began as young man, not a baby. However there are several times in the Bible that refer to infant baptism:
Acts 16:15 " She was baptized with her househould"
Acts 16:33 " He was baptised at once with all his family"
1 Corinthians 1:16 "I did baptize also the househould of Stephanas"
The word "Household" is used in old testament and new testament scriptures as follows:
Genesis 36:6 "Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters; all the members of his household."
Genesis 47:12 "And Joseph provided his father, his brothers and his father's household with food"
Mathew 19:29 "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or children or lands, for my name's sake."
The Bible also refers to households becoming Christain believers or "saved" in Acts 11:14 "by which you will be saved, you and all your household" and teaches that infants are just as much part of the covenant or Christian community as adults. Deuteronomy 29:10-12 "Your little ones,,, may enter into the sworn cvenant of the Lord."
This indicated that salvation is regarded as a communal as well as individual thing.
in one baptism you are sprinkled, in another you are put under water in the name of the Father, son and Holy Ghost. in another baptism you are dunked under water in the name of Jesus Christ. God accepts all.
that is why the Bible says work out you own plan of salvation

Even before my oldest was born, I talked to several preachers and pastors about my plans for my child's baptism. Sadly, no one would do it. It seems no matter how open minded a church might seem, they can still surprise you. I was raised Catholic, my father is Baptist, my aunt is...

If you get baptized in the Roman Catholic church then decide you don't like it and get baptized in the Baptist Church and then decide you don't like it, can you unbaptize yourself? Or does the first baptism count so the other is void, or does it go by the last one?

Why would any christian church provide a Certificate of Baptism for a person baptized? What is the purpose for any any christian denomination to provide a certificate of baptism? Is this suppose to show some kind of proof? Does true baptism require some kind of writen proof?

My husband and I were both raised Catholic but no longer practice the Catholic faith because of our issues regarding Catholicism. We have immense pressure from both of our families to baptize our daughter but we do not want to partake in a ceremony because we are expected to. We want a...

All the other churches that are not a Church of Christ teach a damnable doctrine and people ignorantly believe these pastors, evangelists, ministers and elders of these denominational churches. I'll tell you why!For instance, the Catholics place Jesus in a manger on December 25th, when He is God...

Do you think that if a baby dies without being baptized, it's soul ends up in Hell? And if you do, What are your means for justification?
