Is it too early for christmas?

   Hey everyone, as you may know I've written a lot of hubs on halloween in the past few weeks. In hindsight I would perhaps have seperated these hubs and written about each topic in more detail, but oh well.
   
   Anyway, I've run out of ideas for halloween hubs, and I was wondering if it's too early to start writing christmas hubs. So if you've got any suggestions on halloween hubs or you think that it's appropriate to write about christmas, then your responses would be much appreciated

            Haha thanks.... But I'm similar to you, I wrote about Halloween and then just published a hub recently on Christmas music.  I also wrote one on Thanksgiving, if you were looking for something in between ... Good luck!

               I don't think I'd have much to write about thanksgiving, I like in the UK and we don't celebrate it here. How is that christmas hub doing?

   I agree, its never too early for Christmas! I missed the Halloween all the way around, had too much going on and it just slipped by. Hope to be more organized next year! Good luck!

   A lot of hubbers start writing Christmas hubs in the summer so that they have time to age and gain authority before the festive season, so I would get writing so that you can capitalise on the Christmas rush

   Imho, writing a hub 3, 6, or even 9 months before an event is a darned good idea! Gives the critter time to develop backlinks, collect comments, be fallen in love with by the search engines, etc.
   
   edit: And you can always go back and edit it.

         No one knows exactly when Christmas is. The shepards were tending their sheep is indicative that the blessed event occurred during the spring. Now how would I know that?

         Rhysjc,   I found that my Halloween hubs are getting orders on amazon, although they have slowed which makes sense. It's not too late for Christmas hubs. Quality content and a little effort with backlinks will shoot them past stuff that has been out longer.

   My 17-year old daughter, my 12-year old son, and I were just talking about that yesterday. After a teen poetry slam at the local library, my daughter was telling me about the event when suddenly I thought of the poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas." At that i wondered outloud if it was too early to sing Christmas songs. I told my daughter and son of one year when I was a boy I brought out the Christmas albums before Halloween and how at the time I felt funny about it. However, my daughter's reply was "Nah! it's never too early for Christmas songs. That's like saying it's too late for Christmas songs. Christmas songs are good all year 'round." Then I broke into the song version of the poem. I sang one line and then my daughter joined in and recited the next line and we did that back and forth through about half the poem.

      By the way I realize that the question was about whether it is too early to write hubs about Christmas. I would said no. When I was a sales rep at Circuit City (before the collapse) people started shopping for Christmas in October. So it would a good idea to start writing Christmas gift hubs and toy reviews anytime now.

   Over on ESPN's website they have a columnist named Gregg Easterbrook who writes a long weekly column during the football season called Tuesday Morning Quarterback. Each week he devotes a portion of his column to various instances of "Christmas creep," as he likes to call it. Readers send in examples of stores putting up their Christmas stuff as early as mid-September.

      Ah - Christmas creep! Thanks for bringing it up! Before joining HP, I was one of the people who complained about a too-early Christmas! But I learned how to embrace it, thus I wrote my first Hub on the holiday (on the early Christmas phenomenon, in June). It's never too early to write a Christmas Hub - so go ahead!

    Shops where I live are already putting Christmas trees inthe windows and were already sending Xmas gift emails out on behalf of our ecommerce clients so I'd say NO - it's not too early for Christmas!

    There was a thread about this a few months ago. Although I'm not sure it's ever too late, most of the experienced hubbers were ready for Christmas by the end of August--or end of September at the latest.

    Get those Christmas hubs up!  People are already shopping for Christmas.  Anything ordered can take a few weeks to ship.  I realize shipping has improved, but you'll miss the boat if you wait.
