This is one of the first hubs I wrote here. I want to know if I should continue to write on this subject in novel form or just let the piece stand on its own as a VERY short story? I haven't made corrections or edited this, it just spilled out onto the page as is 6 months ago, and I seem to feel compelled to do something with it now, I just don't know where to begin?
Any and all input will be apprecited... but please be gentle.
Thanks, here is the short url:

This is a very beautiful and toucjhing hub. If you want to continue writing about this you should, Don't second guess yourself, just do what you feel. You are the only one that will know if it is right or not.
I am thankful that you found the work touching. Thank you for the comment on not second guessing, I will take measure of the advice, and thanks for taking the time to visit it.
I also think it is beautiful and touching, and shouldn't be turned into fiction, which would take away its power
My hubs are not edited extensively initially and they are personal memoir about some painful experiences.
With time, I hope to go back with fresh eyes, and do some editing - take out any unnecessary words, simplify sentences, improve grammar, cut irrelevant bits, make sure I have good links & pics etc.
Perhaps that's how you can look at it - take care of some technical aspects.
Thank you baileybear~ your suggestions certainly give a direction to go. I will run through the technical aspects and revise the wordy parts. I hadn't thought much about the linking for this hub, but again really good ideas.
I appreciate your skilled input!
Writing is one of the best ways to help a deepfelt hurt. Many put such personal writings into a diary which no one else sees. Others turn emotionally moving events into a fictional story, though insightful readers usually know it is based on true events. No, you write it as you have. Such writings, as I've said, have a cathartic effect. Write, and write, and write...it will help.
Well said Tusitala, I guess you are correct it did have a cathartic effect when I look back on writing it. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts here.
K9, based on your warning about the Hub being painful and controversial, I approached it with caution. I was imagining something like a horrible child abuse story or story about a gory crime (or something). I figured I'd see what it was about and wasn't sure I'd "dare" read it (because - silly as this may sound - my daughter was here for the night after some awfully bad news about her cat, who was here too, and not expected to make it through the night). Anyway, I wasn't sure I was up for anything too "horrible".
I was completely surprised to see what your Hub is about, because the "painful" part of it is your pain (as opposed to being painful for the reader), and - I don't know - I didn't find it controversial at all. It's obviously not a "happy" Hub, but I when I saw what it is, I thought, "This is her personal story about love and loss. There's nothing controversial about either of those things."
Anyway, I finished this post as a comment on the Hub.
HI Lisa HW~ You know, I struggled with how to present the question and the hub, and thought about the many hubber's threads on gays and lesbians over the past couple of weeks, and I didn't want this to become a discussion on gay rights or how sinful homosexuality is considered in some minds. So I took a conservative, and what I thought to be, a considerate approach in placing the 'caution' in the topic line. But, you are absolutely right! It should not be considered controversial at all. You totally made me smile with a fresh feeling for HP. Thanks for that. I will read the comment you left on the my "Grief woman to woman" hub when I complete my posts here.
Thank you ahead of time, for your time!
On a more 'Lisa HW' note-- I hope that your daughter is doing okay and whatever the cat incident is/was, isn't too hard on your little one. I will keep both of them and you in my positive thoughts today.
Most of all, thanks for taking time to read and lend a hand with this hub, it has been hard to manage re-working it with clear eyes.
Isn't it a violation of Hub rules to use the forum to direct traffic to your Hub - regardless how "touching" it may be? Oh, and sorry for ... well, you know. I lost a loved one too recently
Not in this forum. That is what it is for.
k9: One immediate fix: "wretched" not "retchid". Hit me like a truck before I even got started.
Thanks Pc! I haven't spell checked or anything yet, but will certainly revise this at first chance. Appreciate the direct technical advice!! This works for me. AND, thanks for clearing up what this forum is for.
Other than that, I don't think you should change too much. The emotion is there and it is a beautiful tribute to your love.
I wish i could reach through the ether and hug you.
Pc, I would hug that brightly-colored wig right off your head in return. Thank you very much my friend.
This forum is for getting opinions on one's hub, hence the name.
@S Leretseh~My understanding is that this is what this forum is designed to do, explicitly. But, thanks for your warm understanding on the hub.

I wanted to take a moment to encourage you to write about things you're passionate about. I'm sure you've heard "if you do what you love, the money will follow". I think that is an incredibly powerful and truthful statement. I want to share a personal experience with...

I started a new Hub, https://hubpages.com/entertainment/Opra … rit-Guide, but it will not let me do anything with it. I cannot add capsules, add a summary, add text, or add photos. I can edit my old Hubs, however (I checked to see if it was a system wide problem).

Hey everyone,This might seem like a silly question, the answer to which is probably glaringly obvious to my more experienced fellow hubbers, but I'm truly at a loss here. I'd like to know how you come up with original hubs to write after doing research on a proposed topic. Nearly every...

I am writing about my visit to the Louvre. I'm trying to give an educational idea of what it was like and yet not detail every single thing I saw. should I make a part 1 and part 11? I am thinking maybe the intro, antiquities sections for one, and then a separate hub to cover paintings and...

This is very difficult for me. I have created 3 hubs so far and am learning more and more about writing hubs as each day progresses. One of the more enjoyable and surprising aspects of HubPages is the community here. It is amazingly friendly.I have been experimenting with writing styles, subject...
