I watched SNL last night as Paul McCartney was a guest.
he did several guest spots and three singing sessions and
I have to say; OUCH!
He couldn't hold a note at all!
I am a huge Paul fan but this hurt to watch.
Maybe it's time to retire?

There was another thread on this. I guess he is getting up there. Is it possible he Has a cold or something?
I think he may have been shaken about John Lennon's assassination 30th anniversary recently, and had a bad singing night for other reasons as well. Growing older at 70+, how many friends, band members, family members, and marriages has he lost?-- I mean by this, there comes a point where you stand in the middle of a stage or open space and think silently, "Where'd everybody go?" In fact, some people scream.
It happened to me at age 17 or 18 when most of my friends died in the military near the end of the Viet Nam Conflict and in car accidents the same spring...I was a soloist with the high school band and could not sound a note on key.
Let's see his next performance; he did great on Dave Letterman's show just weeks ago.
So what's new? Paul McCartney never could sing!
He could hold a note and his timing is perfect, but a singer? - no.
LOL, I listened to the video and he wasn't that bad! A bit hoarse maybe.
He certainly had flue like symptoms.... but i feel he really can do better....
I have seen him quite recently in front of a live responsive audience, surrounded by his friends, and he can still sing, he really can..... He really did look out of his comfort zone, on this clip.
He was rough alright, but on the flip side, SNL and the sudience is just happy to have him perform. He doesn't have to prove anyting to anyone and he dosen't need any gimmick of any kind or stunt as a crutch.
He sounded to me as though he had a cold. Hope that's all it was, because he will, then, of course, recover ...

Is it rude to sing along at concerts? My opinion: absolutely, yes, it's beyond rude! It's downright obnoxious! But I recently came across a forum of people who feel the opposite, so now I'm curious about the general opinion.

He earns a prominent award and does a cozy gig for the first family and invited guests. It's a feel-good all around. Can't imagine anyone finding fault with this ... but if you do, bring it....Paul McCartney, pals serenade Obamas at White House"Paul McCartney: The Library of Congress...

I really want to be a singer.I really want to be a singer, but I'm kind of young. Some people think I'm a freak in different ways, so I'm worried people wouldn't like my style. I'm worried about that. But on the other hand, if they look past the look, they really like me for me, and they love my...

Paul McCartney - how sick, how sad, how unbelievable, his crappy slur to Bush and to Laura on his high night in the White House. Not to mention Obama has all this time for entertainment right now? If it were Bush or any other Republican President he, or she, would be attacked like a...

McCartney's tears for ObamaSir Paul McCartney fought back tears as he and Stevie Wonder sang Ebony And Ivory for U.S. president, Barack Obama - because he was so proud to be performing for the country's first black leader. The Beatles star was honoured at the White House earlier this month,...
