I have a great reason - over the time I've been here, I've slowly got to grips with a new way of writing, how to earn online and in short - I now earn enough to pay my rent, my household bills and still have enough left over to live on.
Granted, my rent is only $380 a month but like I said, I now earn enough to cover my home bases - pardon the pun. And none of the above includes the money that I earn from freelancing which is about the same as HP earnings - another by-product of learning to use the site over the time I've been here.
This is from a big fat zero when I first found the site. So - write, learn what you need to know and work smart (a sunforged term).
Don't worry about what you earn at the start - think ahead. Using all the tools you'll find on the site, as well as all the information you can access will open you up to a level of income you may not otherwise have been exposed to.
Happy Hubbing
Wow, I am impressed with the fact that you are earning something at all.
I am earning nothing. LOL.
To be honest I really am writing to practice my art. I would not mind earning something, but I really love being on here to write, and have my work read. To me that is a great payoff.
Still, I would not mind some earnings. LOL.
It is funny. I just put "I'm ganna be rich!" As my facebook quote to 780 of my real life friends.
And that was solely because of this site. I might have just made great money learning about a site through here. We got the bait out there, just need to see if it takes the bait!
Not to mention even if that falls through I am about to make an unbelievable amount of money in the future. When I really get the hang of this!
Great post Frog, you better believe I voted for you in the contest!
The Hub AEvans is putting together is for new hubbers of this year.
Frog doesn't qualify.
Well I'm pretty positive you'll be saying the same in no time at all Mikey. You're a good all round participant on the site (I notice things even I'm not as active as I was - writing you see lol), and I can see how your writing and hubs are developing so you'll soon be seeing the dollars increase more and more.
And thanks for the vote - but for what
I just realised that I can now comfortably manage Cags. I thought it a good motivator for others. My rent has dropped a bit this month because I've moved, which allows for a wider margin of financial comfort. Plus my earning power has increased anyway
Funny about the rent drop. Moved to a nicer place, it's bigger and better for a dozen other reasons yet cheaper to rent. Good times
Wow, that is VERY encouraging, Frog! It's so nice to hear from someone that is doing so well. Take care.
That's just brilliant - being able to live somewhere without having to work daily for your rent. You've already done the work and your hard work is now supporting you for months and years to come
Glad to hear your doing well making money online!
Now your next step should be to make your first website and keep building up.
Funny you should ask that question. I checked my Adsense account this morning and still nothing new, Amazon, two clicks, no sales. That lead me to thinking, maybe I'm wasting my time here expecting to earn money.
But I enjoy writing here, the community and the easy use of the capsules. I guess I'm 200 hubs away and a couple of years from earning but it's a good place to park my articles. Thanks for the boost, just when I needed it.
What an achievement to be able to cover your rent and more! Thanks for the encouragement to hubbers like me who still have a long way to go.
Inspirational.. Good to know that you got to something to look forward to! Great post Frogs!
Always good to hear when someone earns a decent amount, thanks Frog. Mine is trickling in but I need to do more hubs, hopefully over the break (I have 2 weeks off work) I can do some more serious writing.
Very Inspirational! It took me 2 years before I started to earn money. The most important thing is to not quit.
I forgot to add that I had a shot at writing a hub that was related to something Misha achieved. He posted that he'd topped $100 in one day, and Nelle (Hoxie) dropped in and asked if anyone fancied writing a hub that may achieve the same potential.
We ended calling it the $100 a day hub. Anyway, along with others, I went off and wrote one. It's about four or five months old now and earns me around $3.35 minimum per day on it's own. Hopefully, in a year or so it will earn a lot more per day than that.
So that one's been a good help so far. It shows that writing on Hubpages can and will pay off.
And thankyou to everyone else that's come and replied
I'm gonna get there, hopefully sooner rather than later
Well Flightkeeper you have a credible amount of hubs, I'm sure some are working for you. Here's to your future earnings ... and hopefully enough coming in to allow you some of life's little luxuries
Yes it does improve, but it's never fast enough.

I often see forum posts about how the site is 'dying', or asking why people would continue writing here after they've earned success on their own websites. So I thought I'd start a thread about WHY people still write here. To start, here are some of my reasons (I haven't written much in the past...

Was curious after seeing most of the long term - experienced Hubbers. So thought of doing some research. Topic explains it. Let's try to be truthful here. What really keeps you going on here on HP? Why should Hubpages be the First choice for any Writer? Please try to support your idea with...

Hi Hubbers,Why there is this statement "HubPages is not a good place for high earning"? I mean I know that 40% of our total monthly earning belongs to HubPages, but a right amount of traffic can surely help us to earn good income. Currently, the top Google AdSense users earn more than a...

Do people still earn money on here? On hubpages? I am curious

Let me be honest with you, I joined Hubpages in the hope that I will be able to earn some extra income to supplement my college expenses. I know there is no such thing as easy money and I shouldn't expect to live off my earnings on hubpages. But, If I get a good number of my hubs featured, how much...
