How many times a day do ya hear someone say "god bless ya?"

Aren't we Americans just as guilty of wishing the blessings of this "god" thing on folks as muslims are of saying "may allah be with you?"

Whenever I hear that by any monotheist I immediately "brand" them as religious bigots whom I have to, uncomfortably, "tippy toe" around when chatting.

I have to be something other than myself when I'm around them.

    Comments?

I don't really see it that way, but then my experience may be a lot different than yours. To me it's a similar issue as "Merry Christmas" and making that a politically hot statement by reducing it to "happy holidays."

I don't feel a need to tip toe around people who say "God bless you," but that's me. The term has become more generic over time, (IMO) just as "Merry Christmas."

But as I say, that's just me. Your experience may be quite different than mine.

We seem to be just as "nuts" about our belief in this god thing as muslims are about the same abrahamic god thing.
The history of both religions is so disgustingly deadly!

So what do you want us to say when you sneeze? ' you're soooo good looking?'

Why not? Just as credible a comment as "god bless ya."
        ...and it'd be a nice compliment...great idea!

I was in an elevator once and a fellow sneezed, so a lady said, "God Bless You." He said "Thanks, but I'd rather he cured me." Everyone took it as a joke, not an insult.
