A few days ago someone stopped by my hub and left the following comment.
"I CREWED THIS C-47,AF #349219,AT CLARK FIELD PH.IS IN 1954, GLAD TO SEE SHE IS STILL FLYING"
At first I thought it was spam but then when I re-read it I realized that this guy actually flew the aircraft I referred to in my hub. I SO wish he would return and give me some more insights into his experiences flying her in the Philippines.
But, he's not a hubber!
What's the comment which has intrigued you the most and generated a desire for more information?
I had a guy commented to me on one of my hubs that he had information that proved an accident I referred to was not an accident at all, but a planned move by the govt.
I was intrigued and left a reply asking him to contact me through my profile, which he did some time later, saying someone else had informed him of my message.
Anyway, that has just reminded me I have some fascinating inside information to write up on a new hub, but it might get me shot:(
Oooh Izzy that DOES sound intriguing. How fascinating.
A fictional story might keep you alive longer!
Strangely enough, I had someone else offer me inside information too on this same subject, even though I didn't ask for it.
This is going back to October/November when I had my work cut out writing hubs for Halloween/Christmas and I promised myself to look at it again in the New year, but I've been working like a dog and forgot about it, until now.
The trouble with these sort of things is that they are fascinating, but won't pay the bills.
I'm sure I'm already under the eye of MI5 for writing about the Royal family, so what's one more thing, eh?
By they way, try leaving a message on your hub for that flight crew person to contact you?
Never thought of that. Change the names but tell the story as it really happened? Great idea!
I see a best-seller in the making Izzy! Look forward to it.
Oh wow ,I hope he does return to your hub too! Amazing.
I have had a few inspiring comments left on hubs ,but the one that comes to mind is a young student who was so grateful to find information on the New Zealand Kiwibird, after searching forever (hes a teenager-lol) but he asked more and said ,you should write a book, you seemed to know about New Zealand things
The aircraft, an old DC3....ZK-DAK is the one doing scenic flights over Auckland EagleKiwi. Have you been on it?
He must be rather old now as if he flew it in 1954, assuming he was 20 then, he'll be around 76 now or perhaps older. Good for him for commenting.
Oh wow..
No havent been on that plane ( least I dont think so) but I have been on a DC3 years amd years ago now!
No wait ,maybe it was DC10,gosh those were the days.
I lived most of my life in Southland and Christchurch and they were using and old DC? to make scenic flights in ChCh 2005.
When you get back to Auckland, treat yourself EK. Its a scenic flight and they fly low over the city. I think they only do it on Sundays because they're all volunteers.
Two years ago I heard on one of my Hubs from Ron Terre, the only surviving member of the original singers of The Drifters. He also published one Hub about the group and indicated he was in Spain on his profile. I'd wondered where he went and just today found him in Bulgaria, where he is entertaining still.
But I'd like to know more about that airplane, too!
That's rather special too Patty.
The Drifters were SO cool and their harmony divine.
I'd like to know about the aircrew members experience when flying her. She flew during the war too but he flew her in 1954 in peacetime.
What...so there were actually genuine members of The Drifters here in Spain??
I made it 250 ex-Drifters at the last count!
I've have been emailed by a few VERY famous people, one of who was deeply angry with me, two or were very nice.
I had somebody yesterday asking about my academic qualifications, so that she could quote me in a research paper. And I had a few articles published in an American magazine.
And early this month I missed the chance to go on national radio. Nothing in the comments though, just email, just your usual nutters.
What did those VERY famous people say Ryan? Come-on...spill the beans.

Is there a reason why hubbers do not accept constructive criticism and/or corrections? Am I the only grown-up on this site who takes corrections as a means of making my hubs better and myself informed? I, not wanting to let a hubber I started to follow look like a fool, decided to correct this...

A common problem for all writers, taking other peoples' suggestions and criticisms gracefully is essential to the process. I personally, welcome any and all advice from my readers that is constructive and true. I find that my work improves dramatically and I'm more interested if discussions result...

I know there have been a lot of changes and I really appreciate that. I also am looking forward to the new hub layout...but...with disappointment. In any business, one must first make their assessment about what works and what doesn't. The things that don't work, you either fix them or get rid of...

If You Were Granted One Wish In Relation To Hub Pages, What Would You Ask For?I think for me it would be to be able to write high quality, popular hubs in short a time as possible or for some mega publisher to discover my work and like it!! One can always dream!! Have a happy New Year!

Today I got a notice of a broken link in one of my hubs. I don't and have never inserted links in the text of my hubs! I removed the link and I would like to openly accuse the culprit of inserting links in other peoples hubs. But- It seems that even though that hubber has been here for 7 years they...
