No criminal record an experienced teacher with a family that loved her job is being forced to leave because of her past... she is an ex porn star! I'll bet if she were a he it wouldn't be an issue!
what if she was running for president as a democrat.. what would you say about her then?
Well of course I would trash her for being a liberal! Nothing is worse than being a democrat not even a porn star!lol
Wrong. I lost my job as a pizza delivery guy after clips from my porn movies, starring me as a pizza delivery guy, were shown on youtube.
I never realized liberals had jobs screwing the public... oh wait that's what they do! Lol
Well, unfortunately, actions have consequences. Sometimes we make ill advised decisions, and more often than not, those decisions come back to haunt us later in life.
I'm not saying is is fair, but it is reality......
"I'll bet if she were a he it wouldn't be an issue!"
On what do you base this suggestion? Do you have any evidence at all of known ex male porn stars that are teaching? Can you name names, or are you making claims with nothing more than your own emotional base to support them?
Yeah, I really can't imagine them acting differently if it were a man. To me it seems like the stigma is that female porn stars are sluts and bad role models for children, while male porn stars are sex-crazed perverts who will probably try to molest their students.
I think it's a shame. She hasn't done anything illegal, and if parents are worried their kids will look up the films she's been in then maybe they should control their children better rather than place the blame on her.
"[The teacher]was put on administrative leave after a student inquired about pornographic films Myers starred in during the 1990s."
I wonder what, if anything, happened to the student who "discovered" her? I mean, can you imagine the scene?
Student: Principal Skinner, I was watching some pornos with my buds last Saturday night, and I swear I saw Mrs. Krabapple in one of them. So, I was wondering, have you seen the movie? What did you think of her performance?
Principal: Thanks, Bart, I was unaware. What was the name of the movie? I just know Superintendent Chalmers is going to want to see this. Oh, but, Bart, you shouldn't be watching porno-that is, Adult Films. You're too young.
This is a complex issue. A porn star is only a human. She is certainly not a murderer. She is fully entitled to live her life as per her wishes.
Even so, teaching young boys and girls should not be one of her wishes. It will embarass her as well her pupils even if that is not the intention of both the parties.
Teachers are supposed to be inculcating some moral in their pupils. The natural fall-out of her even mentioning about morals will draw some skepticism at least from some of the students. Some may even jeer.
What if she is asked about her past? What answer will she have if she has been asked about anatomy in some juicily quoted questions? She must be allowed to live her life with dignity but she herself should opt out of teaching.
"What if she is asked about her past?"
What if she is? She doesn't have to talk about her personal life at all.
Sadly, you're probably right that now that she's been outed as having been in an adult movie, she won't be able to be an effective teacher. Not because someone who's been in an adult movie can't be an effective teacher, but because some people won't let anyone who has been in an adult movie be an effective teacher. The noisy holier-than-thous will make it their business to hound her away from her job even if the district doesn't dismiss her.
Fair? Nope. But it's still true. I hope she'll be able to find fulfilling work that she enjoys.
Well the Communist agenda has certainly made great strides.

Funny how the great moral right objects to pornography but finds images of people killing other people perfectly acceptable!
Who ever heard of somebody being thrown out of a teaching career for taking part in war re-enactments!
Dont join her class, you will be disappointed
Hmm, I agree that in general women tend to be looked down upon for sexual promiscuity, while men tend to be celebrated for it, but this is one case where I think a man would be punished at least as severely as a woman. A lot of parents don't like male teachers in the first place, because they're perceived as more likely to sexually assault or harass students of either gender than female teachers, so I think a male teacher who was an ex-porn star would probably get the same treatment. If he was in gay porn or the "barely legal" genre, he might even be treated worse.
A primary reason why other people's beliefs about how one should live, should remain within the confines of their own life. It shouldn't have an effect/affect on other people's choices.
This is just an example of the "religious" nutters making waves.
Religious people cannot take all the credit for nutty beaviour
I must have missed it....did this article mention anything about religious groups being involved in this case?
Hey Billy, just in case you didn't already know, most religious lead by their beliefs. Thus, their beliefs are injected into other people's life without recourse. The article doesn't need to say it, because it's a fact that it happens regardless of whether or not it was mentioned.
So what you are saying is "Yes, Billy, you are right, there is no evidence in this article at all that religious groups played a part in this woman's termination"
Thank you for playing along....
I think it all depends on current moral standards ,dont you think?
For instance is cheating on ones partenar, any more or less immoral than being an ex porn star, for example? or what about teachers who are openly gay?
And who would be enquiring about her past ,exactly.
Im sure she could be selective about how she answered that question,as we all do when asked a personal question about our past lives.
Yes its all depends on whose morals we judge (if at all) her on,after all.
I doubt that a male ex porn star would be any more acceptable in a teaching position and probably wouldn't be tolerated by the establishment either. I am so sorry to all you bleeding hearts who think ignorant women should be coddled and given the benefit of every doubt. She is an ex porn star. That kind of a thing sticks with a person and changes the way they think and act in the world. Yea, I know everybody likes sex and we could get into a debate about morality and what's right and wrong but the bottom line for me is I would not want an ex porn star being the teacher in a class that my kids are in. Forgive me for not wanted the warped mind of an ex porn star teaching and influencing my kids. It's time to stop giving women excuses for being idiots. The sex trade is not really a great career move, maybe you'll make some money and you can pretend you're having a good time but . . . well, figure it out. I doubt it's the kind of thing you want on your resume for future job prospects unless you want to be a hooker or another such exploiter. And yea, sure people do things when they are young and stupid but then we have to deal with the consequences. So, awesome to the school that fired her, that's the kind of school I want looking out for my kids.
"I am so sorry to all you bleeding hearts who think ignorant women should be coddled and given the benefit of every doubt."
She's got at least a bachelor's degree if she's a teacher. Hardly ignorant.
"She is an ex porn star. That kind of a thing sticks with a person and changes the way they think and act in the world."
And you know this how? Experience? Friends or family who used to be in that line of work? Years of working as a counselor to ex-porn stars?
"It's time to stop giving women excuses for being idiots."
I don't really think anyone is making excuses for her. She was in a porno movie. A bad move, to be sure, especially if she ever wants to run for public office, but it doesn't have any real bearing on her skills or her knowledge. The only reason it affects her effectiveness as a teacher is that so many people will never forgive her* for the mistake she made more than a decade ago (which, by the way, hurt nobody).
*Some of those folks even profess to value forgiveness...
(which, by the way, hurt nobody).
How do you know that this stuff doesn't hurt people? Porn does alot of damage whether you want to see that or not. It may not hurt you personally but it does a great deal of damage in our society.
This is not an issue of forgiveness or even tolerance. I am not saying she is the devil, I am saying I don't want her teaching classes to my kids. No, I don't actually want my kids being influenced by someone that had the capacity to do that in their past. Experiences like this don't just drop off and it does have a bearing on her current skills and knowledge.
"And you know this how? Experience? Friends or family who used to be in that line of work? Years of working as a counselor to ex-porn stars?"
Common sense for one thing. But just like everyone else here, I don't have to justify why I would make the comment "She is an ex porn star. That kind of a thing sticks with a person and changes the way they think and act in the world." but for all you know maybe I do actually work with recovering porn stars who are usually dealing with drug and alcohol addictions if they are trying to change their lifestyle or maybe I do have family members and friends that have put themselves through that kind of trauma and degradation, you really just don't know what the circumstances are that would lead me to say that.
"How do you know that this stuff doesn't hurt people? Porn does alot of damage whether you want to see that or not."
Really? Examples? How is society hurt by informed, competent, consenting adults filming acts that, when performed by informed, competent, consenting adults, are perfectly acceptable?
""And you know this how? Experience? Friends or family who used to be in that line of work? Years of working as a counselor to ex-porn stars?"
Common sense for one thing. But just like everyone else here, I don't have to justify why I would make the comment "
Well, if you want your comment to carry more than the weight of an unsubstantiated opinion, yeah, you kinda do. Otherwise, you're just saying stuff with no reason for anyone to give it any weight.
"for all you know maybe I do actually work with recovering porn stars ... you really just don't know what the circumstances are that would lead me to say that."
And that's why I asked. You might actually have a reason other than "that's just what I think, so there." I'd prefer to think you had some reason for your opinion other than most folks' general antipathy for anyone who uses sexuality to earn a buck.
I just wanted to note. It is an entirely different thing to be promiscuios than it is to be in porn movies. Whatever the social standards happen to be for men and women, the fact is women can be out there doing whoever they want and still have a decent and respectable career in any field. If you aren't filming the acts and selling them and you have some discretion about who you 'sleep' with then who is going to know anything about it?
And what does 'being openly gay' have to do with porn? A gay teacher is no comparison to an ex porn star.
Don't let this issue confuse you into thinking all acts of sex are created equal and should be accepted as equal. The woman made a choice to f*&# for money and display it for all to see. That's not the same as having sex with others because you like having sex. There is a fundamental issue of self respect and integrity here. I'm just thinking people in the sex trades don't generally exude a great deal of self respect or integrity.
I have based my whole career on my sexual attractiveness...
which explains why I am making almost $2 an hour
I think it would be the same for a man. I would not want her teaching my children. I don't think a single pregnant woman teaching children is such a great idea either.
So, in the imaginary hierarchy of unacceptable past careers, hobbies or avocations, which is worse:
Being a porn star, like this teacher
-or-
Being a witch, like Christine O'Donnell?
BTW,
In my hubby's high school the coach and his wife were running a sex ring out of their house.
It did not involve students (unless hubby is fibbing to me )
I fear they are failing to see the obvious advantage of having a ex-porn stars (of either sex) as teachers.
It could bring a whole new level of parent "involvement."
More frequent parent-teacher "conferences" = better education for little Johnny or Sally.
She would have been perfect in the sex education classes though, I mean what other teacher would have such a large degree of relevant experience for the position !
