Is there anyone on Hubpages here that has visited Bali yet? Why do you like it? I know that many people come to Bali over and over again, so I am curious: What makes Bali so attractive according to you?

Went twice, first time Bali in 1973 and the other time in 1989, so you are more updated than me.

Traveled most of Asia -About 1 month in Bali -arts and culture and one month in Katmandu- for nature.

Most branded in my mind as out standing.

How has it changed? I went to Bali in 1997, and it was the nicest holiday I have ever had. Beautiful scenery, wonderful people, interesting culture. I loved the paddy fields (had never seen one before, coming from England), the art, the dance, everything.

We went to Sanur, Ubud and across to Lombok for a couple of days. We met a boy in Ubud who drove us round the island for about a week, showing us volcanos, temples and his own family home. I loved it, been quite a few places but never matched Bali.

I just return from Bali last week. Well,it can be bored, but you just have to be creative.

First visit: Go clubbing and surfing and watching sunset in Kuta-Legian

Next visit: Spend few days in Ubud to feel the aura of Literati

Next visit: Drive to Tulamben and Amed for nice scuba diving site.

And so on... and so on... and so on.....

Was there a few years ago. The nightlife in Kuta is insane and the snorkelling/ scuba diving in the Gili Islands is incredible.

I love Bali: Great Food, beautiful landscapes, beaches, temples, varied culture, wonderful artists, carvers, musicians, dancers. Check out my story about getting munched by bugs while I was studying wood carving in Bali.

I have been to Bali twice, a few years ago. A great place for a holiday. Great weather, diving, food, nice people. But as for all the people to seem to return every 12 or 24 months because they like it so much I would urge you to go somewhere else... Why would you go to the same place for a holiday every year and see the same sights, buy the same carvings and fake watches. Why not try something different. If surfing is your thing, try Hawaii, if you want to get away from the crowds, try Tibet or Mongolia. The world is a big place, go and see for yourself.

That's kind of an annoying attitude.

I have been to Bali many times the latest being last week. I have just written a hub on the latest prices for things in bali.  I have travelled all over the world and Bali rates very highly on my list.  I live in Australia so its only fives hours away and with our strong dollar at the moment you have great buying power.  Most of all it is a great place just to relax.  The Balinese people are so friendly and most will go out of there way to accomodate your needs.
