   i was wondering if people that have been here for some months or years would be kind enough to share thier secret of how they got to where they are today. so that young hubbers would be inspired to write and apply strategies.

   I refuse to chase keywords.  I write what I know, and that adds authenticity to my articles - they aren't contrived bits of bullshit.

      i have been working on thekeyword thing, from my obersvation, if i should follow every procedure i have learned about chosing the keyword that pays much and the likes, i obersve that the process is taking much more time than what i used in writing the hub. I think i might just stick to the simple process, choosing the keyword with less competition and getting on with my writing, hope that is ok?

   There is no secret just persistent hard work, keyword research, backlinking, more hard work and a whole lot of luck!
   
   p.s. when I first started writing I got slated for spelling mistakes so a good dictionary is a must (see title)

   I wrote my first five hubs and sat back waiting for the $$$ to roll in Of course, they were very 'crappy' hubs. And earnings was zilch!
   
   Then i woke up in the middle of the night, one day, many weeks after and it struck me !!!
   
   "The secret was in the numbers" (of hub, that is), so i started writing, and improving as i was going along.
   
   Then to give me a quick boost, i joined the 30 day challenge. Did that about 3 times, then my numbers increased, then earnings started to trickle in. Slowly at first......., now, the rest is history.

   So you're doing well, viryabo? I wrote 13 hubs in my first 2 weeks, followed all the tips I could, got my ads going, and made $1.21 after a week of ads. (actually with only about 7 hubs at the time, I think). I felt like that was a good start! I'm going to keep writing and learning!

   The secret is to write about topics people like and need and bring to light problems and offer solutions.
   Reviews are other hub ideas. Remember whats hot today amy be ice cold next week,
   There are those talented writers that write the "Evergreen" topics that are always popular...like making money.

    I've never seen that program (refuse to watch that kind of stuff), but from what I've heard of it I think getting rid of it (and a lot of others) will make the world a better place for a lot of people (especially those children).

    I don't know if I would call them secrets, but I have written a few hubs about my experiences and addictions here. My biggest advice is to ask yourself...are you here for the money or writing? This will help you to find a direction to follow. Good Luck and Welcome to HP!

    Well, I have no secret to success to share...I just had a hub nominated for a hubnugget. Still no earnings to speak of, but I haven't even been here a month...
    
    I dunno...how long did most people wait before seeing their first earnings?
    
    My first couple hubs--including the one I'm nominated for--were a couple of those "dying to get these words out there" sort of subjects for me. I'm hoping the muse does not desert me and turn me into a "flash in the pan" sort of hubber!

       I started here in February 2008 and received my first AdSense payout in November 2009. But I saw my first AdSense earnings in March 2008, and they were a whopping $1.69.
       
       Much has changed, especially since the February 24, 2011 Panda thing. Where I had come to expect a semi-monthy AdSense payout until that time, I have earned only about $10 from AdSense since Panda. Hang in there! You'll find your opportunities.

    I've only been working actively for 3 weeks, have 20 hubs, and am averaging earning 8 or 9 cents per day. I don't know where that's going to go, but I've enjoyed writing, sharing it, reading other writers and learning from them. Also, if you want a future in writing, I would think this is a good place to get some experience and build a portfolio.

    No one who's making top bucks in HP-land is going to tell you their secrets. There may be a magic pill, but you have to discover it for yourself. All the advice you've gotten here so far is very right and accurate...work hard and learn every day.

          Ah OK.  Some people do do the stick to the wall thing.  Masses of low quality content churned out daily. In fact up until today I was doing it myself.

             If you are in slumberland, you'll see this tomorrow...I've very much thrown stuff up against the wall here hoping it will stick. I'm not unlike you. I like to write what I like to write about, and none of it is low quality, like none of yours is. But guess what sticks? Food!
             
             Of the 67 Hubs I've written, the top 10 performers are about food. Please, don't pour on the Drano.

       You are very welcome, and welcome to the wagon train. This experience here is very much like heading out to the American west to homestead, to build a future. The trip is full of ditches, bad weather, bad advice (along with the good), and false leads and bad maps.

    My big secret - untapped or rarely-tapped niches that are either seasonal or evergreen.
    
    Take a look at my Hub on South American tour groups who visit theme parks in my state of Florida (not posting link due to TOS), for instance. It's pretty much a unique topic to write an article, since I have read forum post upon forum post of patron's experiences with them, rarely articles. Thus, I decided to write a Hub about them.
    
    Another example is another one of my Hubs about the alternatives to unhealthy drinks. It combines the unhealthiness of coffee drinks, soda, milkshakes, juices, and sports drinks all in one unique Hub filled with evergreen content.
    
    Tapping into niches that are rare, but are capable of generating seasonal or evergreen content is my big secret!
