I'll keep this brief but hope many of you chime in. I need your help with a cool project I'm doing to make you bust a gut laughing (relating).
I want to turn hubpages in all it's glory, the good, the bad, the ugly, the fun, the corky hubs we write, the funny stuff like how some adsense ads land on hubs way off topic (a hub about becoming a nun having dating ads on it!) and so on-
Into a stand up comedy routine. I find this site so amazing in all it's intricacies and want to bring a new or potential hubber up to speed in a way that is enlightening- i.e. make a comedy act that displays just how "real" and "community" oriented, not to mention interesting things are here. It will only be enlightening not negative or bashing regardless of what people think of things like the ad program changes- I want to entice people to publish here basically- and to make you guys laugh too...
My plan is to essentially do a 20 minute to an hour bit (if I get enough material) that will make not only newbies to the site but all hubbers bust a gut laughing (because they relate!)...
If your interested in helping me what I need are ideas- things to joke about- things like:
. The visitors experience (here is a sample of my envisioned routine: <snipped-no promotional links>
. ad/hub mismatches that are hillarious
. ???
I think I can pull this off. It will be a video I record pretending to be standing on stage at "an evening at the improve" I deem "hub-prov"- thought I'd interject some fun and comedy into hubpages community- it will be part of something else I'm working on but will be on youtube too for your viewing pleasure-
So please...
share your ideas (everything will be made funny and light hearted, so feel free to gripe, talk about funny things that happen to hubbers, anything- I need ideas to work into a script/routine- I also want to practice my video shooting/editing skill set as well as produce a funny comedy act just to see if I can pull it off... I have a bunch of ideas but would like your input.
Thank you for listening.
Pardon my ignorance, but since HubPages doesn't support videos like the you want to do (I don't think), how will you do that. Maybe get it on YouTube or something???? I don't want to throw a wet blanket on your idea, but..........I just don't think it's going to work. Good Luck, though.
It's a fun project at this point and it would just be something I record and post on youtube then embed into a hub. It would be a hub about hubs sort of thing really. You can embed any youtube video onto your hubs. I think I will first pass it over to HP admins to watch to make sure it doesn't break any rules but if it's green flagged it will become a hub you guys (and gals) can watch and bust a gut laughing...
The idea here is for my course of a sort teaching newbs how to navigate the site, make powerful hubs etc... but I want it to be more of a fun project to practice my skill sets and do something fun and exciting. I've done comedy before and had a room full of people laughing milk out their noses, so I know I can be funny but never did it for something like this so this is going to be a me breaking out of my boundaries to have some fun and do something on my bucket list- stand up (for a large crowd- hubbers).
What I want to do is create a routine likely 20 minutes long where I talk about the hubpages realm at large and make it enticing for others to come here and join the fun- I truly believe newbies would be better off coming here and playibng around, then learning to make money after having fun with the capsules/lego's before trying any online course that would likely confuse them and take advantage of them. So my ploy is to bring more people here as this is a great university of learning the internet marketing ropes.
I hope to later if it gets rave reviews from my fellow hubbers to make it a part of my other project- the HP algorytm book(s) I'm writing, to explain what exactly hubpages is and how great it is...
make sense?
It is so nice of you to want to help new hubbers this way. Just one thing I don't understand: corky?
I suppose you could just read our funnier hubs and rip off the ideas you find there, but then you'd get caught and drummed out of HP pretty soon, so, can't help you there.
I'm sure by just hanging around you'll get inspired sooner or later for your stand-up routine! and btw, nothing THAT funny has happened to me personally, here on HP.
Good luck to you and thanks for inspiring us!
lol I mention corky as many of MY hubs are corky, I write about a LARGE variety of things as do many other hubbers.
Corky = Strange, exotic, different, intriguing, interesting but strange- like what you see on "ripley's believe it or not!" show are in my definition "corky" maybe I meant quirky? lol not sure if that's slang of just my personal language (I love to invent words, makes me feel independent lol)
What's quirky to one person, however is another persons reality/norm... things like my hub on "Eye Bling" a hub about people who literally put metal flakes in their eyeballs (implants?) in shapes like stars and hearts (bad idea, but interesting I think to write about- hence corky topics)...
I didn't mean quirky as in all hubs but those cool and innovative ones that people just love to read here.
I have plenty of hubs to pull from so I don't need to steal other ideas, what i'm wanting ideas for are what people would want mentioned, what they find would be funny in a stand up act, things that other hubbers would say, yea I can relate- dam that's funny. (like ads for dating on a "how to become a nun" hub...
I hope they find a cure for every disease because I am sick of walking 5K.
I'll try to help, but I am not a very funny person.
Rather than starting with something like the salamander that you were looking for food for, you might want to pick something that more people can relate to so you don't lose them while they are trying to figure out what you are talking about. If they can relate, they might stay to listen for more.

What 3 things do you think someone w/o a lot of time can do to increase their earnings on Hub pages? What tips do you have for someone to increase their earnings on HP even if they don't have a lot of time to dedicate to writing several new hubs every week or even month?

I have been hub hopping lately and I am disgusted with the incoherent garbage that I am coming across - nothing but poorly translated articles of about 400 words, usually without even any formatting. I would say that more than half of the articles I randomly encounter are clearly nothing but spun...

Google says no nudity. These hubs violating policy. The so called authors of these hubs are very clever. They become fan of any one and in return they get fans. Thus they have maximum number of fans. As these galeries need no intellectual, they publish number of hubs. This way they get highest...
