   How long does it take you to write a hub? 
   
   It sometimes takes me two to three days to write a hub. That's probably because I use several research methods, but damn does that seem long to me.

      Fifteen minutes to four hours.    I don't write about anything I don't already know about, so that cuts down on research and sometimes makes it completely unnecessary other than to double check my memory.

         Really?  This last hub I did took me yesterday and today.  Of course I did other things during the day, but still.  I, also, only write about things I already know.  I am, however working with dates that I can recall, but must double check and names that I can't spell, so that doesn't help.

   It depends.  Lately it's been taking longer because I've been writing a lot of "how to" hubs and making my own videos to accompany them.  Those take hours because of the video editing, pictures, etc...
   
   I take my time writing hubs.  I enjoy the process, really.  I have pumped out a few in a couple of hours, but that's about as fast as I can go.  I'm pretty anal though, I like to find the right pictures if I'm not taking them myself.  That in and of itself is time consuming... picture hunting, that is.

      I'm with you about picture hunting.  Because I've seen the movies I'm writing about and have a specific shot in mind, it can take me a while to find what I'm looking for.  I'm pretty anal when it comes to that.

         Sometimes I spend 15 minutes trying to decide whether to insert a comma or not. That I've got to stop. Based on past experiences with google, I think I'm going to go with a more to-hell-with-it attitude this year. Let the commas fall where they may.

            As 99.99 % of your readers scan at breakneck speed  anyway,  you can leave out whole words and never hear a peep of complaint..
            
            If you doubt that, try writing a hub with an opposite view point than the title promises.  It could be weeks before anyone notices - but they'll leave comments from both sides!

   I can write a hub in 30 minutes and have done so in the past. However, I've also taken 2-3 days to write a hub and even as long as 2-3 weeks to write one.
   
   It's solely dependent on the topic.

      I guess you're right.  It doesn't take me long to write film reviews, but film history...yeah, forever.  I guess I better start mixing it up a bit.

   Lately, I've been able to write about 500 words per hour (including research).
   
   I used to be a lot slower.
   
   I only write about topics I already know about so I don't have to do much research.

   Sometimes I feel like I spend more time looking for secondary content (CC-licensed images, Amazon products, etc.) than I do writing the actual hub.
   
   But yeah, my schedule is busy and I'm a dad, so even relatively simple hubs can take multiple days for me.

   Anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 hours. The fiction stuff like the Diary of John series I wrote off the cuff with no idea what I was writing or where it was going or where it ended. Those usually took at most a half hour to write. The rest of my hubs are generally just like rants I guess. They take around and hour and a half on average. The longest one was the New, Old or Illusion hub and that was becuase I got sucked into reading on geometeric dating.

   As of today, I can write a hub starting from two hours to 3 days. It all depends on the subject, my schedule, and procrastination. There are hubs that probably will take longer if I feel it still lacks the heart of the message I want to convey, hence I have the need come back and look at it again and edit.
