She's my "angel". That is her name. I love her to death. She wants to be in the chair with me since it has  gotten cold.

writers block... I keep a notebook with hub ideas that I am evolving.  When I have writers block I work on the notebook or A work on a hub in process. Eventually something interesting causes a reaction.

I have never had "writer's block".  Over the past 15 years, I have averaged one 500 word or more article per day.  That's 365 days per year, by the way.

However, there have been times when I had no interest in writing.  Tired, stressed, busy with other things.. sometimes I have gone as much as a month without writing a thing and at other times I have done 3-4 posts per day.

II certainly am not claiming that all of these were the finest work or even my finest work.  If you are fussier than I, you should expect to have less volume, but I have never understood how anyone could ever say that they have run out of ideas.

Yes,developing the Idea into a piece of writing can be difficult - especially if you are fussy and demanding about what you will publish.

Certain ideas can also be hard to express - I have struggled for weeks over how to express some thoughts, but I charged ahead with others while that one was simmering.

But ideas themselves?  I don't expect to ever run out.  The news is full of inspiration, so is my email and almost every conversation with friends.

So, if lack of ideas is what you mean by writers block, no I have not.

I was referring to the cat and dog that were making it difficult to get to the keyboard. I have many ideas that are simmering and many just waiting to be written. Sorry to lead you astray!

I am so used to seeing cats and dogs interfering with keyboards that I didn't even think it abnormal !

        Isn't that their function?

Yes indeed.  At our house we call them HELP-ers, because they love HELP-ping.  (Always said with a wink.)  We say "It takes a different amount of time to get things done with so much HELP."

      Habee!

You NEVER make spelling or grammatical errors!

Lol, PQ - I make 'em all the time! I find the older I get, the more I make. Thanks!

BTW, I have a hard time seeing my mistakes when they're still "fresh." Sometimes when I read a hub again a few days after it's been published, I can see my mistakes. Oh, this morning I typed the word "about" and thought it looked really strange. I think I'm getting Alzheimer's.

I have been so stressed lately, that I am loosing my desires to write. I went through a week where I kept rejecting my ideas to write because I just couldn't get my stories to flow. I too, have a fur ball that loves to lay on my arms as I am trying to type. Screws me up every time...LOL!

I really hate it when they start typing! The other day I was all of the sudden sending a money gram. She had stepped on my mouse pad. As I back clicked that was beside the hub. lol

The elusive writers block! I have never actually experienced it but I feel for you! Maybe you need to take a break to get a new perspective on your work! What sort of things do you write?

    1. homesteadbound profile image83

I usually write about whatever strikes me, But this particular writer.s manifests itself  as warm gray and furry.

I get writer's block sometimes, and I find that if I try to push it and write anyway it doesn't turn out very good.  It feels forced and I'm not happy with what I've written.  So I just write when I feel like it.  When I'm in the right mood (usually really late at night, annoyingly!), then the words just fly out almost faster than I can type them!  So that kind of makes up for the slow times.

Love the animal photos.  And I'm glad they "help" to write stuff.  Maybe they need their own accounts?

Here is my partner in writing crime. Yesterday, we took the day off hubs to do a little shopping.

If you're going to mention my dog in your forum, at least get it right - it is actually "SHE" Haha! Haha! smile smile smile

(That's a little humor regarding the "Frank" name-spelling squabble on AEvan's top hubbers list which carried over to sunshine625's top 100 hub.)

Anyway, Ruby, curls up ON my arm as I type. She is a huge cuddler! You do have a zoo - the start of your homestead I guess.

Actually you only see 2 of the five here. What you are not seeing is a golden retriever mix - a little big for the lap - and two more cats. The other day I was sitting in that chair with an additional cat.
Give Ruby my apologies. I should have realized that that cute face could only be a female...
I see your hubber score is dancing all over the place also.

Plus she is a shopper. That should have been a dead give-away that she is a she.

The previous picture she was shopping for birds, and next you can see her meeting a scary bulldog in the dog dish aisle, trying on collars, and finally home with a new rawhide and collar. She also got a manicure (actually a nail-trimming).

BTW - I think I better go re-read my goal setting hub again. I don't think posting lots of pics of my cute little beagle is part of my Jan. goals.

Yes, I hate writer's block. How I deal with it depends on the type of writing involved. If it is scientific or legal writing then outlining sometimes helps me. Alternatively, if I am stuck on the introduction I might just start writing portions of the middle and then construct the intro and transitions later. If it is creative writing and I am coming up dry for topics, I might surf the Internet and just see where it leads me or start jotting notes of recent funny anecdotes or things my kids have said.
