Weekend Traffic

   Hi, I know that traffic over the weekend drops, mine currently drops somewhere between 20-35%, just wanted to see how other hubbers fared. Also wondering if anybody has any tips to increasing weekend traffic with regards to topics, or anything else they can think of.

      Dipless mine does too..but it comes back on Monday mornings.. I guess we need to find topics that do well on weekends to balance this out!

         indeed same as mine starts dropping Friday mid afternoon then starts picking up similar time on monday. Indeed, just need to find good weekend topics I guess maybe I'll make some up

      Mine actually goes up.....I've some hubs related to movies. Actually the views on movie hubs just doubles. But the CPM is just the same.
      
      The increased views don't give extra money (at least for me) but the increase in views is awesome and that's a great feeling.

         I guess that makes sense, writing about what people want to do on the weekend which requires very little planning makes it more likely to be viewed over the weekend.
         
         The increased views is very helpful, trying to even out traffic is always a good thing so will look into writing some evergreen weekend hubs. Now just to find what will work.

         Thank you, I am hopeless when it comes to entertainment.. they are just not my strong points.. I can see why I am losing out on weekend traffic.. But that is a wonderful pointer.. and maybe I really need to look at this seriously!

      I just did a hub on the superbowl halftime show; while I never got higher than page 2 on google for this hub, I can tell you I had 1/5 the total views  I have had on all hubs this year, nearly all coming today.

         Good for you! Nothing like being timely to get searches. You were obviously well-prepared by having the history at hand. Hope it does well for you.
         I saw part of it-- but not being a big fan, I didn't pay big attention. There are thousands of people who probably did.

      sorry yours comes to a complete standstill, just went on your profile expecting to see all business related hubs but you have fairly evergreen content so it surprises me that you get almost none, what kind of % drop are we talking about?

   There is no specific changes in the traffic whether it is weekdays or weekends..it is.normal  traffic..

      well then I think you are lucky ,I think most people see a change in traffic over the weekend. Mainly due to change of internet usage.

   My traffic is usually down during weekend -  Saturday is the worst day!

      No need to get discouraged, also remember that your hubs will take a while to settle and get regular traffic.

   Sometimes it drops 15-20%, sometimes it doesn't.  It depends more upon what I have published recently than anything else, I think.   That is, traffic will drop but a fortuitous hub can bring it back up again.

      Indeed a well timed published hub with HP views will indeed give it a boost, but my bread and butter Google traffic always falls by around 20%. I can pick up some HP traffic in the usual ways.
      
      Got to love those fortuitous hubs, fell on my feet with one recently

      I seem to have had quite a lot of blue arrows this weekend and my main earner seems to be losing traffic from somewhere...I know its not Google because I'm still first there. I hope its not going to be a repeat of last Spring lol..earnings were the highest ever in November...if I was getting 10,000 views a day instead of 2-3K I would switch to HP and have a guaranteed impression based earning like Soni said but I'd rather stick with just Adsense at the moment.

   Some people have more traffic on weekends, some less.
   
   Once we hit daylight savings time in North America, web traffic overall will drop as people start to spend more time outdoors as we move into the summer and daylight hours get longer.  This pattern mirrors exactly what happens with tv viewing.

   I don't get many views at all, although I seem to make a few cents more on Mondays and Tuesdays. I had more views than usual today because it's Superbowl Sunday, and people were visiting my dip recipe. This happens on holidays, too. Although its an uptick for me, the numbers are still very small.

    My usual Sunday evening traffic rise has begun. However, over the last month it's been a downward slanting sine-wave. And I've concluded that FB, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest are all a total waste of my time.
    
    I have come to the grim conclusion that the problem is that I'm 917 hubs short of what I need. Sooo, I guess I better get busy...

    weekends always a downward curve for me also - most of my stuff is business related so I guess all those guys surfing from their desks do go home at the weekends...

    My traffic from search engines has done well this weekend. From all other sources it was non existent. This is backwards for me, I usually get more from the back links than I do from search engines. Since most of my hubs are in obscure niches with very few readers they are well back linked. On my business blog another record day Sunday. It seems those in internet business work seven days a week. With more and more people searching video's it is time to start getting them on hubs.

    Normally the weekends see a 30% dip in traffic levels unless there is some Hindu festival falling on the weekend where Hindus normally look for write ups about Gods and Mantras.

    This steep drop hasn't always been there, in fact about three months ago traffic and adsense clicks used to be high on weekends.. it is only for the last month or 6 weeks that my weekend traffic has seen a drastic 30% drop... and all that from  search engines..  Monday mornings things are back to normal... I just wanted to know if this has been happening with others too.

    hi sofs I too see a dip in traffic at weekends but it is difficult to give exact differences as it varies and the time differences might blur the effect.

    Weekend traffic tends to go down and this is because most of the internet users prefer catching fun elsewhere other than browsing and looking for information on the net.

    Good question.  I think most of us tend to take the weekend off to get the things done that we couldn't do during the week.
