Hub Summary - not being used by Google

   I was under the impression that the summary that we write for each hub, using keywords etc is the summary used by google when displaying search results.  At least it used to be.  Now, for all of my hubs, the first couple of lines in each hub is used as the summary.  In most cases this does not hold my keywords and therefore I wonder if this is part of the reason no one can find my hubs anymore?
   
   And the only time a hub is coming up with its summary, is when it is in an RSS capsule in a different hub all together.
   
   I have done some checking of other hubs here on HP and the summary being shown by google is NOT their first couple of lines, so this is definitely something different happening here.
   
   I wonder if this is all part of the changes some of us have seen - zero traffic, zero search results, zero movement etc...
   
   For the experienced hubbers here - question.....if this has happened to you before (disappearing or being sandboxed) should a new HP account be opened and start again, moving content over and fixing errors up (ie keyword stuffing) before being republished OR should people in my situation just stay where we are and ride it out (after checking for keyword stuffing etc..)
   
   I know we should also not put all our eggs in one basket however being new to this I had decided to start off here on HP, write at least 100 hubs and take it from there.
   
   Thoughts?

      Generally my summary will be what shows up in a Google search, but as mentioned, Google may or may not use the summary, but grab the first part of your actual hub. That is why the introduction paragraph is still a very important paragraph to carefully prepare.

   The summary is what is called a "meta description." Google may choose to use it or it may choose to use something else.
   
   From Google: "Google will sometimes use the meta description of a page in search results snippets, if we think it gives users a more accurate description than would be possible purely from the on-page content."

   BTW, my top hubs (I haven't checked the others) do show the summary that I've provided in the SERPs.

   I checked one of my hubs, typed in the title and found it came up on my search also. I try to keep my summaries super short and to point. I looked at the summary and it's my own. Also, shows, next to my url, under the title, at the end, 'health industry', which as I've said when reviewing 'makeovers', to include industry, which helps 'G' figure out what advertisements to use. Just a guess and no expert  here

   A couple of months ago I asked a question about summaries not showing on Google results, and janderson99 advised keeping the summary under 150 characters to give it a better chance of actually being used by Google.
