Has anyone seen a decrease in earnings

Of course, Whitney.  I believe Google has downgraded HP to the point of paying less than before for the same ads displayed on hubs.  They make more profit this way and we have no control over it.  Scroogle us!  lol

Yep, I was pretty happy the first week of the month; even the first weekend was kind to me. However, around the time of the start of the spam attack, it all went down in flames.

Yes, I have.  March was a great month, April was reasonable, and May was absolutely dreadful.

Oh, you've noticed that too. Maybe because ads are not displayed in IE browser. I'm not sure though if it's only my browser that are not showing them. If readers are using IE to browse our hubs, and ads are not showing there, it will affect earnings.

I've seen an almost 50% decrease in ad impression earnings since the end of last year.

I now need twice as many impressions to achieve the same earnings

Yep!  Once an average of around $2.00 a click on Google and an occasional higher rate on some hubs--up to $9.00 a click--but now around $.50 to the high of around $3.00 or so.  Definitely a large drop in earnings.  sad

Still freaking zero for the day (adsense)...

I'm lucky to get one click a week, and that includes three other sites!

The month started out so well for me. I was beginning to think I'd done a smart thing switching back to adsense.

I still get a few clicks, but they don't pay much as a rule.  Funny how I get the same number per day on average.  You'd think the numbers would be all over the place.

This is why I have permanent writer's block it seems. Every time I start to feel inspired, my following thought is why waste the time. We'll see what the new week brings...

I know. Hard to get inspired when one's former inspirations are expired.

I'm sticking to my translation work. I had hoped to cut down on it a bit by earning here, but that has not happened.

    Whitney,

I had switched back to Adsense for a few days last month and gave up and went back to HP ads. Adsense earnings are back to when I started - it took me 3 months just to get a payout. And now we are down to pennies a day. It's dismal.

I switched to HPads a month ago, just to see whether it will affect my Adsense as it had done in the past.
Adsense was not so great before i switched HPads on, but now with HPads on, i earn mere cents a day from Adsense.
But judging by what ive read above, it seems Adsense earnings are dismal these days anyway.

Should i got back to Adsense only?? Probably. Earnings were much better for me with Adsense only, so i think i will switch off HPads.

You will naturally see a dramatic drop in Adsense earnings when you switch over to HP Ads, but this is because the Ads for Adsense drastically reduce in order to make room for the HP Ads. All that said, I have to say I have noticed that since the recent layout changes by HP, and bearing in mind I do use HP Ads, I have noticed that whereas I was hitting payout every month on Adsense (in spite of only one Adsense paid Ad being used on my Hubs in this instance), I am now going to be lucky to hit payout one month in three. I totally blame this on the new layout experiments, and in this instance cannot see it being as a result of Panda or Penguin because the sudden drop in Adsense income only happened when the layout started to be tweaked around with by HP.

My Adsense began climbing again in April, but fell again May and now June when it normally begins to really rise because of my best niche hubs.  I suppose it's fair to say I'm not too pleased with the new layout.  sad

I had some awesome earnings in April, but it's been downhill from there. I think Randy's right. I think Google has devalued HP since Penguin.

I agree. I was doing really well last month and now I'm making as much as last year with double the amount of hubs. Someone said it was because they were testing Chitika, but I don't know anything about this. It's very discouraging and makes me think of moving on to something else for the time being.
