New profile style missing search box - NOT resolved.

A thread on this has been marked as "resolved", but it's not.

The search box may have been removed by design, but it has removed a feature that was really useful.   I've needed to use it several time since the new profile came in, and it's a right royal pain trying to find a Hub by a specific Hubber using the "big search box" instead.

I challenge HP staff to try something.  Imagine you're a reader, you saw a reference to a Hub on neck exercises over on Youtube.  You've got a link to the author's profile but not to the Hub (it's Simone Smith).  How long does it take you to find the Hub?

As a staffer, it may not take you long - but imagine you've never used the HubPages search feature before.  How long would it take?  Would you be successful?  Or would you just get diverted by the other search results offered, and settle for one of those instead?

HubPages may not care because they still have that reader, but Simone has lost a reader.

And in case you're wondering, I was that reader and I never did find Simone's Hub on neck exercises - and I'm supposed to know how to find my way around here!

Marisa, I liked that feature also and new viewers may not figure out how to find the list of hubs, but I did just find it in less than 2 minutes.  I went to Simone's profile and opened Show all, clicked on Health and found it by browsing titles of hubs.

I know, but but I never got around to that, because I got sidetracked by some of the other Hubs which came up when I searched using the "big search box".  And I imagine other readers would, too.

Besides, that's fine if someone has written a handful of Hubs on a topic, but what if (say) I want to find a Hub by someone who specializes in a topic and has hundreds of Hubs on that subject?

I think you misunderstand the meaning of "resolved", Marisa.

In Hubspeak, it means "we cannot be bothered to discuss this matter any further with the plebs"

The search box helps with searching a hubber that you know wrote something but 1) don't remember the title, 2) don't have the link saved, and 3) don't have the time to search up to 1000 or more hubs to find that one.

Or, like you're example, a reader who wants to see what else a hubber has written about a particular topic. searching 'cats' under teh entire site will lead to useful and crappy hubs. Searching 'cats' under a particular hubber that you just read a hub from may lead to the useful ones you're looking for.
