How did you and your lovely partner meet? Who approached who and how? Where? I find it very difficult to meet people therefor this is my all time favorite question to ask a couple. Glass of wine? Cup of tea?

I met my current partner in a bar. It turned out that neither of us were big bar people, we just happened to be there on the same night, and it was an instant mutual attraction. There wasn't much conversation at the bar, as it was quite noisy there, so we went someplace else to get to know each other better. Which I was hoping would not be just another one night stand. Considering that I was still there the following morning for a nice breakfast, things were looking good.

We started seeing each other a couple days a week, and in a few months we moved in together. 2 years later we bought our first home together, and lived there for a few years, until we purchased our second home, lived there until we could no longer afford, it, and spent another 8 years in an apartment.

We are not currently living together for financial reasons. But nearly 22 years later there is still affection. We're like an old married couple.

        Hi brimancandy xo
Thank you so much for sharing! That instant attraction is priceless isn't it; especially when it is mutual. You are very lucky to have a long term loving caring relationship. Some of us are less lucky that way. It's so interesting that neither of you are bar people and yet where you were! xoxo

We've been married for 36 years now - there was no online anything when we met.  There weren't even home PC's then!

We were introduced by a mutual friend at a church Thanksgiving dinner and married Feb. 4th.  Had exactly one formal date in between.

Oh Wow that's utterly amazing! When you know, you know! And only one formal date between first meeting and your wedding?!! I am still wrapping my mind around that!  Thank you for sharing, wilderness, I think you've just blown my mind!
Actually, the majority of the people I've asked in the past met their partner through mutual friends. I will have to have some serious words with my friends! LOL
