   For those of you that are married, how much did you pay for your wedding photographer and what was included in the package.  Also, where was the wedding located?

      I looked on Craigslist and got an amazing photographer for $500. He gave me the photographs and I had to have them edited separately, but I also paid very little for that. There are tons of photographers that need work in this economy and you don't need to go with anything fancy. The real money was spent on my wedding venue which was the Four Seasons.

      Being in the business myself, I had one of my assistants take the photos at my wedding, so it didn't cost me anything. The thing is that most people look for a wedding photographer almost exclusively by the price and this is potentially a recipe for disaster.

   I'm divorced now, but when I got married, my police-woman sister took our photos with the camera they use for crime scenes.  Fitting, as it turned out! lol

   For my daughters wedding we paid $2500. It was a beach wedding in Ft. Myers Beach. I wrote a hub on it if you care to look at some of the pics and packages. Many people took their cameras and took great pictures too.

   $0.00-  but that is only because I am a photographer and have lots of photographer friends that owed me favors
   I recieved a DVD with a slideshow of photographs and a jump drive with all pictures taken.

   $150....which was $100 per hour and I hired her for 1.5 hours.  She gave us all the proofs and we could do with them as we pleased. Thankfully, I never had any of them made larger because we divorced.

   £700 which we got knocked down from £1500, this included photos of the wedding and reception, photo's on cd, a calendar and a hard back photo album created in Italy.

   Married on a shoestring budget. We gave guests disposable cameras for candid shots, some of which were awesome. My cousin took photos using her digital camera for free. We had beautiful pictures for nothing. Married in San Diego in a park setting.

   In 2000, in Texas, I paid $900 for my wedding photography.  But I opted to use the photographer's apprentice, who was working cheaper.  Most likely the owner of the company would have charged nearly $1800 - $2000, as I remember it.
   
   My pictures were fine.  How expensive you want to go is up to you.
   
   If I had been married in a fantastic church with lots of stained glass windows and beautiful picture spots in gardens, I would have gone with the best.  But, as it was, our church, though nice, did not have any fantastic photography potential.

    Remember, your wedding is a once in a lifetime experience!  Professional photographers, like DJ's don't come all that inexpensively... but unfortunately you tend to get what you pay for!
    
    You don't want any mistakes with the pictures or the music!
    
    A good idea is still to have disposable digital cameras on the tables of the reception.  That way each table can take pictures and you'll have some great unexpected shots that the professional photographer may not have been able to get.

    I paid $1200 and I was really pleased with the photographs. But if you know someone who will do it for free, then all the better. Weddings are getting so expensive so the more ways you can cut costs the better.

    My sister and brother both took photography classes and are pretty good, so I had them do the portraits and we also put disposable cameras on the tables for guests to use. We ended up with some really good candids that way, and also some "art shots"  taken by my husband's then-5 year old nephew.
    
    My sister also did the photo album.

    Last year I paid $50 to be picked up in a convertable , driven to the wedding on the beach  & have the photos taken on our camera card !!

    I got married in Oklahoma, and we paid $650 for our photographer. He was running a special at the time, and the price included bridal, engagement, and wedding photos. He edited the pictures and gave us the CDs, so we did have to print them out ourselves, but I actually prefer it that way.

    My daughter and her fiance booked their own Videographer and photographer for their wedding in sept 2009 ,I beleive the cost was £1200 ,that included a DVD from getting ready to the first dance at the reception ,so 10 hrs photography and filming ,the results are stunning !!
    The venue was our local Parish Church and a stately home in the country for the wedding breakfast.

    I got married the first time in a church, and I think the photographer was around $500. But that was over 30 years ago.
