               Even under perfect conditions, that technology is nowhere near 100% accurate.
               
               And a tiny country run with absolute authority by a despot can do crazy things.  I am not saying they will, but it is not impossible.

                     Yes I know it as that.  And the idea that it could offer full protection is implausible.  Just like germs and immunity--if you send enough, some will get through. I am also thinking of South Korea, of course.  Not just the US.

                        There is more of a threat of armed forces crossing the border.  IMO, that is the risk to SK.  Of course, they will have to get through the United States Marine Corp to accomplish this!

   It doesn't make sense that North Korea is willing to risk a nuclear war against the US. However the US to start a war would be in its interest, let's remember our history, Pearl Harbor, Vietnam and more recently September 11. Let's remember during the cold war confrontation in the pigs' bay, hadn't the USSR withdrawn, the US would have been at war.
   Everybody who is informed knows that the US, since the discovery of rare elements in the Chinese sea, increased its military presence in the region. If China, Russia are renewing their military assets, it is to face the agressive deployment of US military arm. Our goal is China. To get North Korea is to ensure us of a privileged position in Asia.

      Don't tell me - we invited the Japanese to bomb pearl harbor, Bush mined the towers with his own two hands so he could blame binLaden and now we're causing WWIII by mining the Chinese sea.  From the other side of the world, no less.

         Indeed, we invited them. Which strategist won't think of Pearl Harbor as the closest target to be hit by the Japanese? None of our generals? Admirals? Europe is taught that Pearl Harbor was premeditated by the US. You are the only one who still believes in the inocence of our country. Is it generational?
         Who was in Libya, Irak...? Who is in Afghanistan? Pakistan?...

   I fully support the right of the DPRK to defend itself from US aggression.  But I hope the rhetoric does not need to become a reality.  America should stop its war games, take it's troops off the peninsula and dismantle its own nuclear arsenal aimed at Korea if it does not want war.  Thursday's actions by the US were a childish provocation.  They fly over the DPRK running mock bombings of the country and then try to take the moral high ground and disapprove when the DPRK responds with words and threats.
   
   
   Americans who dismiss the DPRK and ignore its reasonable indignation do so at their own risk.  The DPRK has legitimate grievances.  Understanding these and addressing them may just save your lives.  Otherwise, continue to push someone for long enough and they may just strike back.  By the time you realise that the empire is a Paper Tiger, it may be too late.

      First, it was in SK, not NK. We don't pretend to drop bombs over enemy territory, we just do it. Second :

      Since it seems like you aren't the sharpest tool in the shed, annual means it's done every year, as is NK's empty threats of doing something about it.

   Dude, you don't need to play Devil's Advocate. Everyone knows North Korea's missile is going to be shot down the second it leaves its launchpad, and then their beloved emperor's gonna get his face kicked in. With a hammer.

   I am sure plans are in place to deal with any nuclear weapons launched from North Korea. Whether they could stop every single launch I am not sure. Of course in the event of such a nuclear possibility, America MUST not launch first - that would destroy any U.S credibility - but I am absolutely confident they would not. In truth, I just don't see either side launching.
   
   The one saving grace of North Korea is that its extremism is not fanatically religious. Therefore, the people in charge don't believe that God will achieve victory for them, and they don't believe they're going to 'Paradise' if they get killed. They know the consequences of launching a nuclear attack will be the end of their lives and the end of North Korea, and so I suspect they will be realistic enough not to do anything so stupid.
   
   They may however be tempted to launch provocative raids, skirmishes, localised bombings with conventional weapons just to 'test the water' and see how far they can push it. I trust any such action would be dealt with severely. The contrast between the civilised values of democratic South Korea and the military regime in North Korea are more marked than those between any other two neighbouring states in the world, and South Korea's status must be protected, and I'm sure it will be.

      Realism would entail, what our CIA will do to trigger a nuclear war front? Another Gulf of Tonkin incident? Another September 11?
      Who stopped the escalation to nuclear war between the US and the USSR? Certainly not the US. It showed its willingness to experience a nuclear war and, it is scary. Let's once again remember our history, we were the ONLY ones who threw a nuclear bomb on civilians.

            The US is responsible for female genital mutilation on Africa, the near extermination of whales and the Tsunami in Japan.  Had it been here then I'm sure it would have been responsible for Krakatoa; minerals to be mined you know.
