Is Jesus the Savior of the World?

   Christians all over the World claim that Jesus Christ, the Messiah, is the savior of the World and not just Christians. He died for the sins of Christians, atheists, pagans, Muslims, Jews, Buddhist, etc... An important argument we must note is that the teachings of the New Testament say that to go to Heaven you must accept Jesus as your personal savior and Lord. How could he have died for people other than Christians when they do not know him? This is irrelevant and contradictory.

      Well we may not know him personally and we very well can.(I have a close relationship with God) but there are really no excuses.

      There is a difference between knowing about God or knowing our Lord the Saviour

      The argument that everyone must accept him as saviour in this life or go to hell is fundamentally flawed. It says that the Father has a conditional best before date love, and that in actual fact he hates unbelievers (much like the Islamic version of God). The theory also proves problematic for those who never heard, such as those born before 2000 years ago and our Amazonian tribesman. The Christian weasly get out clause is that these people are judged differently; that they are judged upon works, and everyone else upon belief. This is utter nonsense as the same Christians also claim that God shows no partiality between people. If there is a chance that someone can go to hell because they did not believe, then better not to tell them about Jesus in the first place. The believe or go to hell doctrine also means that a person's eternal fate is inextricably linked to the credibility of the evangelist. If the evangelist is an idiot who could not form a coherent logical argument with supporting evidence, why should the believer be condemned for not believing him?
      
      Paul the apostle was a believer in ultimate reconciliation, that is clear from his writings. The Church has adopted a turn or burn sucker gospel in order to control the great unwashed through a fear campaign.
      
      I imagine a Christian witnessing a car accident and seeing a trapped victim in danger of being burnt to death as their car catches fire. I'm sure that being compassionate people they would make every effort to save the person. But if they were to fail they would probably declare "Ah well he's a sinner and deserves to burn alive for all eternity in hell anyway.......at least that's what my pastor says....mmmm".
      
      The real gospel is like this. A bear charges at you from the woods, pins you down and is about to kill you. Your friend has a gun and kills the bear. You are now saved, its a done deal, and you didn't have to do anything, ask for it, accept it, say a sinner's prayer, anything. This is what Christ the Messiah has done for all humanity. But the Christian says that unless you formally ask to be saved after the bear has actually been killed, your friend will pour a can of gasoline over you and set you on fire.

      Jesus Christ died for the world in a way that we can say that whosoever comes and believes shall be saved; however, not every sin from every person in the world was placed upon Jesus as a propitiation (satisfying of God's wrath) of sin. If that were the case then everyone would be saved, because how can Christ suffer for their sins and then the individual suffer also? Then you might say, "Well, for those who are not saved, Jesus bore all theirs sins except for their sin of unbelief." The problem with that is that sin, ultimately, is everything not done in faith. Sin isn't merely defined as the do's and don't's in life (i.e., lying, stealing, etc.), but that "everything that does not proceed from faith is sin" (Rom 14:23). So, for whom did Christ die? Again, Christ died so that whoever comes shall be saved, but it was only the elect's sins for whom Jesus propitiated. Here are a few texts to show what I mean:
      
      Rev 5:9 "And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation."
      
      Here, they state that the blood of Christ ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. There were specific people in mind and those people are those who are actually saved (the elect). Here's another example:
      
      John 11:51-52 "Jesus would die for the nation, and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad."
      
      Again, Christ died for the children of God scattered around the world. His death also was a means to gather them together. The New Covenant is a blood bought covenant purchased by the blood of the Lamb. It is effectual and not one drop of the saviors blood was spilled in vain (where it was meant for an unrepentant sinner but wasn't made effective; this does not happen).
      
      Matt 1:21 "She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
      
      It says that He will save His people from their sins--not might save or try to save, but He will actually save His people--a definite amount of people--from their sins.
      
      I'm aware of any objections anyone might have so as a preemptive response I recommend going to my page and reading a couple of hubs I have on the subject--particularly "Divine Election" and then "Golden Chain of Salvation."

      I'm not sure how this is contradictory. In order to be a Christian, one must first believe in Christ. If Jesus died for Christians, or to save Christians, he'd be saving those who already believed in him. I'm pretty sure that you're considered a Christian only after converting....but did I miss something? A Christian is anyone who believes in Christ...I think...

         Right. But there was a design in the atonement of the cross that was put in place before the foundations of the world. Consider Ephesians 1:3-12 "3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,
         4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love
         5 he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,
         6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
         7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
         8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight
         9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ
         10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
         11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,
         12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory."

            Thus, the controversy is that most people believe that Christ bore every sin of every person which becomes effective upon faith. So, faith activates the atonement at the cross. However if that were true then everyone would be saved and He failed miserably.

      1 Tim 4:10 That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.
      
      This verse is all I need to know that He will save all.

         He is a living God. What does "living" mean? How will the living God save those who believe? What about believing makes us more likely to be saved?

   He died to pay the price for the sins of every person on Earth.  To get the benefit of Jesus as their savior, they have to accept the gift and repent of their sins.  Every person has the chance to have Jesus be their savior and go to heaven, but if you don't accept the gift, you will not receive it.

   The church has been set up to spread the good news that people do not have to die in our sins. Hearing this good news however it is a choice.
