Well, I only want to play if I can be an actual God. I didn't realize there were more important Gods than me . Isn't Olympus where the first Olympic games were held?

Ok, God-  you get to be the judge, but if you are the judge, then you have to make the rules and decide the games.  You still wanna be God?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for some reason I thought the city which held first Olympics is called Olympia wink

And yeah - you *are* The God. And always been. And always will. Don't you feel it? wink

      What is our first competition?

    sandra rinckposted 16 years ago

Mt. Olympus was a home of a God.  The first Olympics were held in 776 bc, were, I don't know, but I am gonna guess some city in Greece.  Probabaly Olympia.

    Let the games begin!

  4. Mark Knowles profile image58

The Olympic gods have generally been credited with the first Olympics. The actual historical origins of the ancient Olympic games are a bit murky, but one myth credits their origin to the deity Zeus, who began the festival after his defeat of his father, the Titan god Cronus. Another myth claims that the hero Heracles, after winning a race at Olympia, decreed that the race should be re-enacted every four years.

First competition should be tp find out which version is true LOL

Btw, Mark looks like a Zeus, beard and all, but Misha's taken that. So can't Mark be Ares, the god of war? The closest to mischief and laughter is Hermes, so I'll be him.

  15. Mark Knowles profile image58

I will have to work on getting my beard to flow more zeus-like smile

I remember that the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology did not last because they allowed too many human ego tendencies, so take note children. Raise your humanity to God and be the co-creator you are meant to be by keeping your human ego in service to the God that resides within you, as much as you allow it to.

I posted this forum to prove a point. I wanted to see if anyone who called themselves a Christain would post here, and they didn't.  Though I did get one person who I think is a Christain and they did reply.  Congradulations, your a lover Just like God.

I know everyone who says they are right about God, probably poked in and decided not to answer because they are cowards,  they can't stand a question the places human worth againts God.  That's really rather sad.

But look,  we have one who doesn't believe in God what so ever who I view as more respectable than someon who says they love God, because he can see the worth of humanality.  God of Sarcasm or not,  he is justified and truthful to himself, which is the only person he had to be truthful to to begin with.  Congradulations, You may not see me in Heaven, but I will see you.

There was one who probably doesn't know what he believes but wants something, and guess what,  you believe in what you can not see and you believe in Love and hate, Hate.  congradulations,  I will be seeing you too.

There is one whos knowledge and love is an enterprise,  she is supreme in her beliefs and I really do believe that she has gotten a double dose of blessings because she knows herself as well as God, and she is proper and just in her intentions.  She is of God.

You know what else,  I don't have a religion.  I do judge people and I judge them for all the good that they do, or for the goodness of thier hearts or intentions that show through the ugly and mean.

What I can not stand is a majority group of people who think they are all that and right in thier beliefs push in your doors, tell you that you are wrong and try to run the world.  I hate them.  I really, really do.

Thanks for your kind words, Sandra, and I just had to pick up on your last paragraph.

Resentment is like swallowing poison and hoping someone else will die.

You deserve better in life than to carry that level of negative energy.

Those people who are trying to control and convert the world are just scared.

      They are just scared.

You are much, much bigger than they are.

When you come down to the level of conflict, your own quality of life decreases.

      Why do that?

      You deserve better.

      (hugs)

      Well, Sandy,
You got me puzzled one more time smile

      1. profile image0
sandra rinckposted 16 years agoin reply to this

What more is there to hate, but the expressions of hate itself?  You probably hate even knowing what hate is,  you probably remove yourself from hateful things and try best not to acknowlege it, but know it's there.  In short, whatever you do whatever you say,  you love that you hate love.  That's a pretty wise choice.

I could be wrong, but am I?big_smile

Thank you Sandra - I appreciate the compliment.

I am with you - I have no religion either (unless you count zen atheism)

It's an uphill battle with these people though. George Bush is a "Christian," and I can only hope that there is a hell for those people that push it on everyone else. Although, I have a feeling this is it. smile

  19. William F. Torpey profile image70

George Bush is a Christian? I was under the impression that Christians favor peace, not  war; poverty not wealth; truth not lies; honesty not deceit; freedom not tyranny; friendliness not aggression. If George believes in Hell, I believe he won't need reservations. He's earned the warmest suite.

oopsie, I did a typo,  You love that you hate, hate.  my bad.  I guess I write love more often than hate, that I wrote love in the place of hate.

  22. Inspirepub profile image71
    Inspirepubposted 16 years ago

    OK, that makes sense again.

But if you hate hate, surely you would hate yourself hating hate? And then hate that you hate yourself for hating hate?

It seems a slippery slope to me.

I prefer being quietly amused by hate. Compassionately amused, but loving (as in accepting, just the way it is) everything, even hate.

It gives me a better quality of life.

Of course you are worth God to everyone, whether they know it or not - it does not matter cutie:-)

    Everyone is worth God!

What they do, what they say, where they live, what they do or do not drive, what they wear, what they think....

None of that matters when it comes to the worth of a soul in the eyes of God!  He is perfect LOVE.... it is only "us".... fallible us.... that mess loving each other all up!

Sandy, My Goddess, this stuff is important to me, and your opinion on it is important to me, too. But my English just gives up on the "You love that you hate, hate." I know it may be easy for natural speaker, but I plain don't get it. I spent the whole day trying to decipher it... Can you re-phrase or elaborate? pleeeeeeeeeease? smile

Misha, just know what you love and what you don't like.  Your purpose was already written in your heart, follow it and never let anyone tell you how to seek God.  Never let anyone come between you and God, not me, not Jenny, not Kathryn.

When it comes to God, it will always be about you and God, do you understand?

I'm amazed at how this thread has got to such an amazing length.

I suspect most Christians didn't join in because they took one look at the original question and thought, "I have no idea what she means".  You'd probably call me an agnostic, but I couldn't fathom it either - and after skimming through this thread, I'm still none the wiser!
