What is the purpose of one's life?

No seriously! What are we all here for?

We are here to enjoy life through experiences and learn as much as we can from those experiences so that we can use that knowledge to better the world around us and continue to enjoy life.

"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."   (Rev 4:11)

We were created to please the Lord and love Him forever. When a person believes on Jesus Christ and He saves us, we are restored to Him so we can fulfill that purpose.

It is said in our scriptures that we have been given human birth so that we do what God had sent us to do, that is to remember Him, sing His praises so that when we ultimately we depart from here we become one with Him and are out of this cycle of births and deaths.

I believe I've asked this question before on hubpages, as well as answered it, but its definitely a good one that many of us have pondered on.

Life to me presents obstacles and challenges from many directions, and in many ways or forms.  Say the physical barriers that separate most humans from achieving certain goals, or blocking one from movement.  There's the mental one's that attempt to inspire fear, or instability, and possibly mind control of people.  Then there's spiritual barriers as well in life that aren't as obvious, and definitively will show themselves throughout the countless moments in human existence, in the struggles for dominion and balance of things in religious ways or non religious ways as well.

With all that being stated, to counter such barriers in life to me takes the full out living of life, without regard to being stopped by such barriers in their present, past, and future forms of existence.  By being able to bend around such things, or adapt to inherent situations of a forced nature or that from an outside influence.
If done with the right measure of judgement and care, a person can learn to enjoy this life we have, the full beautiful nature that truly exists for our souls to feed off of and enjoy & to share with many others their travels upon this precious planet, instead of forcefully lashing out of fears, and desires to take ownership of it all for mere greedy pleasurable filth.

So basically put, life is what you choose to make it for oneself, life is what you choose to accept from others, and life is how you live it all out based on ones perception of the usefulness of such.  It can also be seen as ones full assessment of the totality of their environment & its overall effects on themselves as well as others.  Without sharing, giving, loving, and providing for others for some reason life seems to become meaningless in my opinion, whether your a firm believer in something or not.

Thanks for sharing yet a great universal question that hits everyone of us at home base sort of speak, & countless philosophers, religious leaders, some politicians, scientists all have attempted to answer for us all.

We are to live our lives for the one who created us.  God created us for himself and we are to be about His business.  This would be loving and caring for others and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ His Son who died on the cross for our sins so that we may go to heaven and be with Him when we die.  God is the ultimate demonstration of perfect love and we should in turn share this love with all those we come in contact with each and every day of our lives.
God has given us everything we have or will ever have.  Everything is His and we are to use all to share His love with others.  We are just stewards of this earth. When we were born we came into this world with nothing.  When we die we wil take nothing with us.  We will either go to heaven or hell.  I pray that each of you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and know without a doubt that you will be in heaven when you die.

Do you remenber what the bible tells us about the first creature? it tell us that God created Adam and Eve to help maintain and take care of the garden eden, which was just a portion of land specially desinged by God for the first creature.
So i suppose God has created each and every one of us with a special and diffrent purpose for the maintainance of this planet.
I will want to add again that, we are just as an intrument desinged from God to this planet to use whatever he has deposited in us to make this EARTH a better place, as it si a gift from God.

Ah, yes, the eternal, unanswerable question...but I will give it a shot!  Throughout our marriage, periodically my husband has asked, 'What's it all about? (this thing called life)'.  Depending on the mood I am in when asked, the answer varies greatly!  In this forum, however, I will answer a bit more philosophically…I hope.  I believe that we are all here of our own volition and we are seeking growth and experience in an area we felt we were lacking in.  This is for those that believe, as I do, that our souls are eternal. They always have and always will exist.  Whether or not my theory holds any water will be determined at a later date, but while we are here I believe the tangible answer to the purpose of our being here is to touch as many lives, situations, experiences and souls in as positive a manner as is humanly possible.   I try to live my life this way each day, and it makes me happy.  That is my story, and I’m sticking to it!

To attain freedom from the shackles of birth and death. Some say it is to attain God. Yes, once you lose your identity, God fills your conscious. The purpose of life is not for enjoying the sensual pleasures like the animals. We have the greatest gift from God. The discriminating intellect and an intelligence to probe the higher realms of life. We must relinquish the ego filled mind. We must become thoughtless absolutely. It is the mind and the thought which hides our vision from the Self which is God!

If you're talking about these Homo sapiens bodies, then the purpose is to house our sleeping souls (true spiritual selves), giving us a chance to work out our salvation. Now that Yehoshua of Nazareth has done this for us, now all we need is to decide to follow him. But "follow" means much more than most people think.

If you're talking about these spiritual selves (children of God), then the purpose is to reawaken and to come back to God after our great fall, long, long ago.

Our purpose is to let go of the seeds of selfishness (samsara) and to reclaim our spiritual heritage.

Some say that they are following "Christ," but they continue to follow ego. Our purpose is to wake up enough to see the difference.

Every living creature on this planet has only one purpose and that is to reproduce. Whatever you do in the meantime is unimportant, reproduction is life's only purpose. The people that like to believe in a god can do so, the people that don't can do that too. What does it really matter in the end as everyone dies?

to have a purpose in my view denotes a higher calling on earth as the highest from of our purpose one can subscribe to....... because without  the element of a higher authority ........ other purposes are vain or vague.

Every individual life-fore, all things have a life-force, exists to give purpose to existence. By consuming and recycling other physical entities each life-force learns the fullness of existence so some future time each life-force becomes the life-force over all of existence before forgetting everything for beginning the learning process over again unceasingly.

Looking around we see constant repetition like days, months, seasons and years. We see the constant consuming and eliminating the unused portion to be consumed by something else but never an end to the consumers nor cycles. That should make us know that nothing is wasted, including our life-forces.

We see different life come into existence that has to learn survival skills or be consumed, we see in human & woman - hu = hewed from and wo = woven from which doesn't represent genders but a lesser form of man = mind able to comprehend all things - are able to learn many different types of skills. That is because before we have evolved through every form of existence with a lesser intelligence than us who have an unlimited capacity to learn. So as human we have to live as both genders and every conceivable variance, each of the four ethnics and all possible crossbreeds and perform every type of performance any one human has so once we become man we will know our limits are not reached until each of our life-force has overseen the fulness of existence when we forget everything to begin it all over again. https://hubpages.com/religion-philosoph … acle-Cards may help you understand that.
