The flap must come from a few .
I love Cheerios-- especially the "Multi- Grain" ones. Also our extended family includes some members  with Black and Asian  heritage-- even some redheads and blondes. I hope Cheerios doesn't back down.

Sad that the Internet gives voice to such hatred. The opportunity to comment anonymously seems to bring out the haters in droves.
Good for General Mills for not backing down.
I hope they follow this soon with a new ad showing a gay family eating Cheerios!

Kudos to GM for keeping the ad up.  I think I'll go out and buy a box of cheerios.  I hate the things, but I'll buy a box anyway.

I was just so surprised this would come up in this day and age. But, then again, it is YouTube comments... you come to expect the lowest of the low in terms of comments.

I was just thinking that also...that I couldn't believe that guff over something like this would rear its head in the 21st century.  Amazing that we can air what's essentially soft porn to advertise for ice cream, but not a perfectly happy (and nowadays perfectly familiar) family to advertise for cereal.

      Ugh.

        smh

They need to do a commercial with our families... together, we've got more colours than a Benetton commercial.

Me and you, we'll wear rainbow t-shirts.  We'll all sit around eating some Cheerios. We'll wear Abercrombie & Fitch shirts just to round it all out.

      Why would you be surprised?
Stupidity's pretty widespread these days. Why not just do what Wilderness and I are gonna do: Go out and buy a box of Cheerios!

It is more than sad, it is totally insidious.  This is the 21st century, there are more "interracial" couples than ever before.  "Interracial" couples are not an anomaly.  Well, it shows how far behind some of humankind are. This backlash is totally appalling.  There is no such thing as interracial, we are all one race-THE HUMAN RACE.

Well, it's now spread to Facebook. The "American White History Month" people are all bent out of shape. Supposedly if you like this you are a race traitor smile

Makes sense to me - only minorities have the OK to have their own month.  Everyone except white males, that is - they are subhuman creatures, not worthy of respect or recognition.

          I did...

I loved this little nugget about the cheerio's commercial:

Name Withheld to protect his dumb ass:  I'm really appalled and disgusted by the people who are accepting of interracial relationships, but I'm certainly not surprised! Race mixing, and especially white/black is an abomination and a sign of the perverted and immoral times in which we live!!

Woot!  I get to be an abomination for something else now!  Being a bi-sexual abomination was getting boring.

I confess I did not - I'm not much interested in anything to do with racial overtones.

And I'm getting the impression I should have - I didn't even connect it to the OP yet it must or you wouldn't have mentioned it.  My bad.  My very bad, I suspect.

And this is why racist Conservative Southerners should all be sterilized and/or castrated and/or thrown into a pool filled with sharks. And then we can finally get the History Channel to show programs about history again.

At least you portray your position with the proper tolerance and unjudgemental perspective you would like to see in others.

You are truly part of the solution.

      lol
