I was wondering if a hubber should opt out of the HP ad program:-

    1) Will all the current ads be replaced by Adsense units?
    2) How soon will Adsense ads start showing?
    3) What if I want to opt back in, how soon can I do that?

I am asking because I want to know which one make me more money. I just want to test it to make the best decision for me.

Instead of the HP ads showing your share of adsense ads would show up instead. Hmm I think that's going to happen immediately. You can switch back the very next day as far as I know. I've switched back within 3 days.

What was the experience like? Did your adsense earnings make a difference?

Well, I tried it twice and both the times I got around 90% less with adsense. However, I just changed to adsense now as I'm almost at payment there. Already crossed the threshold here, so may as well receive my first adsense cheque )

Okay, thanks and congrats on receiving your first Adsense payout. Brandon, do you have a blog?

What happened to all your hubs?

Got one with just 6 posts get around 10 visits a day on average. But, got a new review site that's just picking up and it's definitely better off than the blog lol

There were many with low traffic, Deleted them all. The ones that receive good traffic are retained. They are now doing even better. Not sure if it's because I got rid of the diversity and poor performers. But, traffic has improved.

I am thinking of removing some myself but they do get a few visits each month...lol, so I am delaying the process.

The change is instant, as far as I'm aware.   From what I've seen on the forums, most people find they do better with HP Ads.   As you know, PPC is only going to be better than PPV if you're getting a reasonable amount per click - and Adsense rates aren't as high as they used to be.

I agree with what others have experienced. My earnings are much higher with HP ad program than just Adsense.

In my case I get high traffic but low CTR on many of my top or viral hubs. So the ad program earns me more because it's PPV not PPC.

I'm thinking that maybe it isn't a wise choice to opt out...lol

I have opted out three times now, for periods from a few days to a month.

Each time was a disaster as far as income goes; every time it fell by 3/4 or so.

So, for me, it is not a wise choice and not one I will repeat unless HPads begins to have extremely low CPM's.  As in 50 cents, maybe.  Others will have a different experience, though, and everyone should make a decent effort to find out which is best for them.

Thanks Wilderness. Maybe I'll try it and see. I just wondered if it was better than Adsense or not...lol

I think it's better to stick with the Ad Program because you earn based on CPM so no one needs to click on ads for you to earn. As long as you get traffic to your hubs you will always earn something every day with the Ad Program. If you opt out of it you may see days with no earnings at all.

I have several websites that get lower numbers of views individually than I get here on HP for my account but earn higher through adsense than I get here through the hp ads...

I keep meaning to change over to give it a try.. maybe I will experiment for the last week of the month having already past payout.....
