Hub title needs to be changed in the link.

I originally began the hub as a poem only -- then I got so involved in research of the place where I wrote the poem that I changed the title to an Educational/historical site hub. However, I had saved the hub unpublished before I changed the title and category. Now the link is still the poem title and category. How can I change this? Do I have to delet the whole hub and start all over?

You can't change the URL once the hub is created, but you can change the topic just like changing the title.  In edit mode at the very top, click on the topic area.  It will bring up a window you can change things in.

Thanks, Nightmare -- I did do that and am ok with the title and category now. I am only concerned about the URL title.

You cannot change the original URL, you have to delete and start new. Save anything from the first one before you delete it.
If you want, you can make a title for the Hub that is different than the original URL.

Thanks, Kevin. I did change my title. I forgot we cannot change the URL. This is not a good day for me.

edit: I think I will delete the hub before it is through the QAP and before I get any more comments. I have one comment so far. Thanks again, Kevin.

If you want it changed completely; yes you have to do completely over. Up to you. I have only done over one time because it seemed so important to.

Thank you, Jackie, for your encouragement and support.

This is great to have such good support from fellow hubbers.

the link cannot be changed. only the title can be changed. You can think of a title that both relates to the link and the content so that the difference would not be really visible

I agree with Ex-1, it may take up to 24 hrs. from the moment you select "delete" for it to go away. Save your content in a word processor 1st. After it is gone then start over.

Okay -- done! I deleted the hub and will re-create it when the time is right, with the proper title and URL it creates. Thanks, Word.

Thank you, Guys, all of you. I appreciate your help.

Phyllis Doyle  I am going to do the same thing…I changed a title and that is true the URL is still the old one.

For me it was the best thing to do, since the hub was only an hour or so old.  There was one comment on it that I felt bad about losing, but I think she will comment on the revised hub, I hope.

You could have copied/saved the comment and then when you started the new one kept trying different ways to find one that worked to post the comment to the new Hub.

I was going to copy the comment the realized that it would not be acceptable to paste in on the new hub, for it would not be acceptable to HP.  I don't know.

PS edit: Kevin, I did go back into the hub (it is still waiting to be deleted) and copied the comment along with my reply.

Well, you can paste it and leave it there to see if they do. They may first send a warning or an email and you can try relaying to them what the reason is that you did it.

I am trying an experiment to see what happens by changing title and maybe category.  Then give a couple of days. If things don't pan out will start over.

I am in the same boat, but have already received a comment, so I really don't want to delete the hub.

However, the url is really specific to things that are not part of this hub---ugh, what to do?

    http://rockymountainmom.hubpages.com/hu … l-Examples

(The reasons and examples are both completely irrelevant now)

I went to your link.  Please know ai am not laughing at you just at your situation.  Yours is a bit different situation than mine.  Sometimes it is hard to decide which topic to put the hub under.  How much does it matter?  I am not sure.

RockyMountainMomposted 9 years agoin reply to this

I added three reasons and examples rather than leave it so misleading.  But it made me chuckle when I realized the url was that way, and now I'm laughing at myself a bit for going to this level of trouble so as not to be misleading.

But I'm also amused that others were struggling with similar title/url dilemmas at the same time.

ok I am most likely going to delete my hub and see where The Examiner-1 says to cut and paste comments I have more than one.  Is there a way to do that?

    1. The Examiner-1 profile image60
The Examiner-1posted 9 years agoin reply to this

      firstday,
I tested that by copying one from one Hub and pasting into another Hub. It had everything as it was in the original Hub - except perhaps the Level of the person who left the comment, I did not take notice.

Make sure that you highlight all of it before you copy.

That is what I decided to do and I feel much better after doing so. Now I will not have to stress over it. Thanks.
