Should I Shut Off HP Ad Program?

   I need advice. I have both the HP Ad Program and my own Google Adsense ads on my one Hub. I haven't earned a thing from the HP Ad Program, but I'm earning on Adsense daily. I'm wondering if I should get rid of the HP Ad Program ads completely so more Adsense ads will show. Is this a good plan? If so, how do I turn off HP Ad Program ads?

      Are you sure you've got the HP Ads program correctly activated, because that's really unusual.
      
      The HP Ads program pays per view, so it would be impossible to earn from Adsense without earning something on HP Ads (after all, a visitor has to view your Hub before they can click on an Adsense ad!). 
      
      Also, when the HP Ads program is working, your Hubs will show only ONE direct Adsense ad, and that's right at the bottom of your Hubs, so it seems unlikely you'd be getting lots of clicks.
      
      So, I'd be checking that you're correctly set up for the HP Earnings Program first. 
      
      If you are, and you want to disable it, you can do that easily as Relache has pointed out.  You can turn it on and off as often as you like.

         I did have to go in and activate it. Adsense earnings haven't been stellar, but I've been earning consistently. Now I guess I'll see what happens.

   Since I've activated HP ads, a couple of the ads on my Hub have nothing to do with my Hub. They are way off. I might deactivate it. At least the Adsense ads from my own Adsense account were on target for my Hub content.

      Adsense is contextual by default, so it is based in the users history more than the page.

         Hmm...ok. I don't go around searching or visiting sites on that Hub's topic. Are they more on target for me because I have viewed that Hub? I'm so confused.

      Ads are not displayed based on the content of your Hub.  They are based on the reader's browsing history.   Adsense also displays ads on that basis because they've found people are more likely to click on those. 
      
      So other people don't see the ads you see, even with Adsense.

               On my own Adsense account they are turned off. I think that's why the ads were specific to my Hub content with Adsense and they're not with the HP Ad Program.

                  No. Even when you're showing Adsense only, HubPages' Adsense code is used some of the time, and your code is used the rest of the time.  That's how the split in earnings is achieved.  So when your code is being used, your Adsense preferences will be used.  When HubPages' code is being used, their preferences will be used.

                        Not much you can do about it!   The main thing is, it won't make any difference whether you use HP Ads or Adsense - when HP is displaying their code, you can't control the content, so you may as well stop worrying about it.

                           I'm not worried about it. I still can't decide, though, which one to use. Right now I'm using the HP Ad Program, but so far, I'm not impressed with the earnings. But I've also noticed that my traffic has kind of stagnated.

                           I think I'm going to leave the HP Ad Program ads on. Each Adsense click was a good chunk of change, but clicks were sporadic. While the HP Ad Program seems to update in pennies, it's more consistent, so it looks like I'm on track to earn more with it than Adsense. Thanks for the help.

            HP displays ads on your Hub some of the time.  They don't have interest-based ads turned off.

   Yes, the ads you see are not the ads the reader will see.  Keep in mind, when you first activate Adsense, the ads will be all types of things for a bit before it settles down into a 'theme' at least that has been my experience in the past.

   Keep the HP ads program. That is where most of our revenue comes from.
