I noticed that several of my hubs were showing the half-darkened circle which means un-featured for traffic, so, natuarally, I went and made some improvements, only to find that then the circle became complely blank, meaning un-featured for quality. It seems to me that if they were low quality to begin with, they should have shown a blank circle to begin with. How does making improvements on a hub result in it being un-featured for quality. I don't get it.
James, when my hubs become un-featured due to traffic, I usually tweet and post to FB before making changes. Then if they still aren't featured I go into edit mode and see the notes/hints HP has posted in the top right corner. After making their suggested changes, they usually become featured again.
i've had similar experience to James. There were no suggested improvements, so I edited for repetitious terms and words, and tried to add to the text or an additional photo. I'm really not sure what sends a previously featured hub into an unfeatured state.
Hi James.
What is likely occurring is that your Hub was grandfathered in related to the QAP assessment.
It was defeatured due to not finding enough readers and once edited it is then subject to he current standards which may have changed since this Hub was last reviewed.
After this Hub has been evaluated by and past the QAP, it will again be given an opportunity to find readers.
If you have any further questions, you can contact us via an email to team@hubpages.com
It might be helpful to everyone to know where we can find the latest updated current standards for QAP.
You can find more about the QAP here.

Frankly, I think it depends on which mturk happens to rate them. Luck of the draw.
Thanks. Yes, there were NO suggestions from HP in the top right.
What I did mostly was to eliminate some links to my other hubs and some products. I just now eliminated a few more products from one.
Guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
James, try sending them out to your social media followers. If traffic picks up that should help as well.
If the hub is unfeatured for low traffic, then you should drum up some real traffic yourself. It being unfeatured means it's not in google. People must find it through links you post. FB, twitter are indeed great ways.
There is little need to edit a hub that has low traffic. That's not the current problem. In fact, you might edit it into something worse.
Editing a hub will not get you traffic if that's what you need.
Why don't they just tell you what's wrong? They send you emails saying "Head's up, Your hub could be featured." But they never tell you exactly what's wrong with it so you can fix it. I'm getting tired of the guessing game (fixing, hoping and then it's still not featured, and repeating).
Oh, I'm sorry (replying to my own post), but I just noticed that the email does say "if you would like personalized feedback on how to make your Hub better, we invite you to post in the Improving Your Hub Forum." ---So I just did. Sorry.

On a different account, somewhat "experimental" account, one of my Hubs is unfeatured. Generally my inclination was to unpublish it and move it or just delete it. But I kept it and put it in a Hub group. Meaning, if the Hubs before and after it get traffic, possibly the unfeatured one...

I am just curious, all 92 hubs of mine are featured. In your opinion, should one delete (although Featured) any hubs where the score on a particular hub has eventually dropped way down from when it was initially high at one point? Or would it be better to just unpublish and later...

I recently had a hub un-featured for engagement, as the half-circle indicates. I think this is an unfair practice and should be eliminated entirely. Here's why I feel this way:Our hub traffic is often affected by the time of year, holidays, seasons, and current events to name a few. If left alone,...

Very disappointing indeed but, can you guys here suggest some tips in improving hits? I don't want to spam my facebook...

Lately, I have had 11 hubs unfeatured due to Quality Issues. I have assured my hubs do not contain grammatical or spelling errors. I have included relevant video and changed the titles and added new supporting texts and all this to no avail. The HubPages Staff continues to deem my hubs do not...
