Followers Not Being Notified When a Difficult Hub is Finally Published

I had trouble with my most recent hub "How to Talk Aussie (I to P)" being published due to "duplication". The problem with a topic like this that many of the slang, strine and colloquialisms I need to use have already been published elsewhere. Anyway the hub was published for a few minutes before it was flagged "duplicate" and taken down. It took me five attempts to alter and add to it and another day before I managed to have it accepted.and republished. However when this happens Hub Pages doesn't re notify your followers that the hub is now published. Previously when they tried to view it the hub was just show as no longer published and they would give up. I manually shared the hub myself when finally published but it has had few viewers which is strange because the first two in the series were extremely popular.  Any suggestions?

      Hi Dear John,

That has always bugged me to death that HP does not send out another notice to one's followers!  Then the rating will drop just because no one knows it's published.  If most of those you follow are like me ...I log in through my email and not on my stream, so I do not see a lot that is shared by anyone.  I only log in via HubPages when I have to ask a question or post a forum, for I do not know how to get there when I am logged onto my page via e-mail, as I never see any options to get to the questions, etc.

Thank you for posting this, for I love your wonderful series and I am heading that way right now, dear heart!  I know I will vote up and more and share everywhere to maybe help with getting our same followers to read.

      Peace and blessings

To get to your stream from any HP page, just click on the "HubPages" logo at the top left of the page.

Oh, really!  Thank you so much Ron.  I have been on here for over three years now, and have never known.  LOL

I think I even asked a question about it one time and did not get an answer.

          Bless you

Thank you for your support Faith. I know you'd mentioned this problem before with another hub you weren't notified of. It would be good if HP could do something about this, but we just have to wait and see. Thanks for checking out my hub.

Jodah - I too have been waiting for the next installment. Will hop over there and read. I have been enjoying this series by you. (By the way, don't you think that HP needs to do a better job of communicating with hubbers when something is flagged as "duplicate content"? I had that same issue a few months ago and had to play the "20 questions game" before I could figure out what they were dissatisfied with.

Thank you Carb Diva. I agree that it would make life so much easier if they could highlight the section our whatever that is duplicate so it can be quickly fixed. Anyway I hope you enjoy the hub.

I haven't gotten an email from you, John. I noticed when I tried to view the hub when HP notified me, it came up as No Longer Published.

I agree with you. When issues like these arise, HP should resend notification once they've accepted a hub they've taken down as approved.

Thanks Shauna. I thought that would be the case., I did reshared it on The feed after it was finally published but didn't send out an email.

I almost never get emailed when the writers I follow have published a new hub, whether it is the article's first try or a second or third attempt. Notifications are very sporadic. I seem to get notified more regularly on topics I follow, but only every now and then for the writers I follow.

That's bad SmartAndFun. Maybe you should contact HP admin and find out what's up with that.

Good point, Jodah. I found I have to keep up with my hubs, keep checking into HubPages or a big problem may arise.
Frustrating when a huge effort is put into writing, creating and sweating over a hub then to have it blasted out of the water in a matter of seconds.
    Keep being

Thanks Dan, if enough people raise the issue they may do something about it. Shouldn't be too difficult.

You can always "Share" your own hubs.  There's no rule against it and people do it all the time (I don't, personally). It has the same outcome as a notification; it makes the hub appear on your followers' feeds.   I wouldn't stress about it.

Hi Calculus-geometry. I did end up doing that. Thanks.

Yes, same here. I'm trying to just follow a few topics at the moment. That, too, can be difficult to maintain.
