Every so often I enjoy reading new Hubs on Hub Hopper.
Per Hub Pages:
"The Hub Hopper is tool that allows you to read and provide feedback on a random assortment of Hubs that have been published recently. Hubbers that regularly hop and rate Hubs contribute to the HubPages community, by helping to determine the Hubs that will be featured prominently across the site, and also by reporting poor or inappropriate Hubs that don't meet with the conditions of the HubPages Terms of Service."
I understand the hopper helps out Hub Pages, but I have a suggestion, why not add a comment section where the Hub Hopper reader can leave constructive comments on how to improve the Hub.
I recently 'hopped' a new Hub and it was a good Hub that had the potential to be a great Hub if the writer would of added a summery and restructured the Hub slightly. I wish I had an easy way to give this writer this comment as I was evaluating.
In addition, maybe it would be good for writers to see what scores they are getting on their new Hubs that are being Hopped. So they know what area they need to improve to make their Hub better.
I think emailing the hubber is a better way to make improvement suggestions, rather than do so publicly via the comments section.
The Hub Hopper is an obsolete site feature. It's just never been disabled or removed.
It is a holdover from before HubPages decided to run all the content past MTurk and created the present QAP process and procedures.
If you look at the very top of your account page (above everything you'd normally look at), you'll find that the Hub Hopper still exist.
As I said, it's never been disabled or removed.
Isn't it only about a year ago that Hub Hopper was updated to it's current form? I haven't read anything previous to say that it was a defunct feature. Maybe HubPages staff would like to comment on this forum thread and confirm it one way or the other, otherwise a lot of hubbers are wasting valuable time rating hubs for nothing.
*I see there is a forum below by Paul Edmondson from three years ago saying a new Hub Hopper had been introduced..so I guess time has gone faster than I thought. Maybe Paul will advise the current status.
Yes, I would like to know also. Are we wasting our valuable using Hub Hopper? If the information we suggest is not helping Hub Pages, identify good Hubs to feature, then what are we doing?
Thus, going back to my original suggestion. Maybe Hub Hopper can be used to provide direct feedback to the author. Not in the comment section, but possibly through a private correspondence. Giving constructive feedback regarding a newly published hub.
1. Grammar and Mechanics
2. Organization
3. Substance
4. Proper Image Use
And overall suggestions on making a good Hub great.
I like your suggestions. If Hub Hopper is still relevant...I find it's rating system difficult to use and this would be much better.
I agree that it is now difficult. I don't like the way it forces us to rate hubs that we have no interest in also.
Just refresh the page and it will give you the chance to skip that hub.

There is a new Hub Hopper that is available today. I've posted some details about it on the blog and set this thread up to discuss it and to get feedback. *Note, the Hopper is only collecting data right now, but will soon be used to select Hubs to feature.

I'm fairy new to Hub Pages, but one of the things I really enjoy is reading through the Hub Hopper - you never know what topic is going to pop out at you OR how good or bad the next article will be, ha! But some of the really good ones could be even better with some good writer-to-writer feedback....

I'm curious as to whether there has been a decrease in hubbers using the hub hopper to rate hubs. I just have a feeling there is because my hub scores haven't been fluctuating as much (which is fine with me). Overall, I'm wondering if there's been a bit of a slow down in hub QAP due to...

Would any of you suggest 'reporting' an obvious newbie who has obviously not read anything of the rules and protocols here, whose profile includes no bio and indicates having joined but 2 hours prior, and whose portfolio includes but a single, very short and very poorly written hub?I'm not even...

What do you do when you read a hub that is purely promotional? The hub itself may be well-written and enjoyable, but clearly it is all about promoting a company, product, or service. Do you flag it? Do you ignor it? Do you rate it?

How many of you use the "Hub Hopper" and how often?Do you leave comments, vote in polls, rate up or down, follow, and post fan mail while Hub Hopping?
