I noticed that CPMs are really low so I decided to just start a test where I would just be running AdSense ads only and it's only day one, only one data point, but so far I'm already out-earning my HubAds earnings.
Anyone else running tests and seeing anything similar (or different results?)
I don't know if anyone has tried it for a while, but there have certainly been people who've earned more on Adsense than HP Ads in the past. It seems to depend what your subject matter is.
If I remember right, Melbel has switched over before and has found HP ads to be better. But now that the CPM is super low (relatively) I guess I should give it a try as well.
I stopped paying attention to my AdSense earnings ages ago - glaciers move faster. If I ever reach their mythical $100 minimum for a payout, I will be pleasantly surprised and accept it as a gift from a gracious nowhere, but if HP hadn't introduced their own Ad Program I probably would've given up on this site long ago. HP Ads for the win.
Yeah, I've run the test for longer and I seeing $5 and $8 days with AdSense instead of the $2 and $3 days I'm having with just straight hub ads.
This is good to know. Thank You so much for experimenting and sharing your results
Which niches seems to do well with adsense vs hubpages adprogram? I have never run this experiment and am curious about your results.
I just switched over the adwords on my other account. I will let you know how that turns out.
I thought HP required people to be on the HP plan in order to be on the niche sites?
My experiment cut earnings in half, I'll stick with the HP ad program.
For some reason, even though my Goodle AdSense says "active", I can't access my numbers because they say I am not active...so I guess I am running on just Hubads, which is doing pretty good for me.
I am totally disappointed with earnings at the moment. For some unknown reason even though the views are the same, I am back on daily earnings that I had about 5 years ago! so frustrating! and indeed makes not the slightest bit of common sense!
For me, CPM is the same as what it was this time last year. In 2016 CPM started to increase towards the end of March, for me anway. Presumably this has something to do with competition increasing as the gardening season takes off.
So, I disabled the HP ad program for a few days last week and only used AdSense, and it would appear my earnings were significantly better for the few days that I had HP ads disabled. I switched back and the HP earnings the past few days are the lowest I've seen in years.
That has never happened before. I used to always do better running the HP Ad program, so needless to say I am going to keep a very close eye on it. For now I am going to run with just Adsense for a bit longer and see what happens.
Perhaps all the massive earnings drops here are the result of the latest algorithm update that happened recently who knows? My traffic is way up on many of my niche sites, but the earnings are not, they are either the same or dropping and it's very, very frustrating when earnings dip so dramatically with no warning.
Interested in other people's results with this as well. I'll post again should anything change.
How do you change to Adsense? I think I want to try!
I had two interesting days this week when Adsense paid more than HubPages even though I am on the HP earnings program. I guess that shows how low earnings have sunk to lately. I would also like to know how to change over to Adsense please,
If you want to run your own experiment go to the settings and then next to "configure" and turn off the HP Ad program.
Keep in mind, I have had AdSense for a long time on several niche sites, so if you don't have AdSense in other places, your earnings will have to build up to 100 dollars on AdSense for payout. If you only make a small amount, it may not be worth it to you.
Good luck everyone
Thanks, Christin S It is good to know now how to change the settings even if I am a little nervous to change them right now. Might be tempted though if things continue they way they have been. I do have Adsense earnings set up in a couple of other places and they seem to be doing OK.
I have my own blog and plan to start a YouTube channel and vlogs, so hoping I will hit layout easier with my combination. I still haven't hit payout in over a year on the ad program, so it can't hurt, right?
My only fear is that I will never ever hit payout on the HP ad program and it just sits there forever!

I really do miss the old success stories.. they were the ones that gave us all hope. Even after 6 years of being here at hubpages it is all a mystery to me. I am still loyal to only Adsense and didn't opt for hubpages ad program. My question is...is there anyone here earning over 500 dollars per...

A few days ago, I noticed that a lot of people were talking about changing from HP Ad Program to Google AdSense. I had tried that a few years ago, but switched back pretty quickly because I earned better with HP. Recently though, since my earnings have dropped so much, I figured I didn't have much...

How do your Adsense earnings compare to your Hubpages ads program earnings?I'm pretty new here, and have made about .50 in the hubpages ads program, but no more than .01 in my Google adsense account. Is this normal? I seem to have Adsense enabled, am posting on allowed topics, etc... How does your...

I remember I left HubPages shortly after the introduction of the HP ad program. So I did not see that my earnings are still accumulating until now.
