“That White House is a real dump,”
"New Hampshire is a drug infested den."

OK, maybe if it was talking smack about Detroit - I wouldn't notice. Has there ever been previous Presidents talking shit about the WH? I'm sure there is. I don't think it even had indoor plumbing when first built.

If anybody remember previous Presidents talking smack please post here with links if possible. Thank.

If Obama had been accused of saying such things, you can believe that you would have never heard the end of it.

Why does Trump hate America so much?

And to think that they once called Reagan the 'teflon president'. Who says that it is a liberal media, Trump still seems to get a lot free passes all the same.

Be fair, he hates everyone. Americans should not take this personally.

But Cred, We aren't "hearing the end of it" now either.  Pres. Trump has not gotten a pass on this from the media.

Just a note... It is disappointing to me to hear our president's house disparaged this way, (even if it was a dump). My perception is that it says a lot more than just what it literally says.

I take it as braggadocio of what his own home is.  No gold toilet seats in the White House!  And, I suspect, it isn't very "homey", either.

GA, Obama was attacked based on some false perception of his patriotism and being American. Since Trump is a white male businessman, no one would consider that as a possibility. That is the first  'free pass' that he gets. That was a pretty stupid thing that Trump said and Obama would have been and has been roasted by the Right for saying far less. We both know that.

This guy is ugly, personified, inside and out. Why do you think that anything that he is involved with is going to be a improvement for business as usual inWashington?

The statement shows contempt for the Office of the President and by extension, the American people.

He does not hate Americans or anyone! Why would he be trying to save the nation if he did? And don't forget he is not accepting a salary to serve as POTUS.

The "people's house" is rather old for one thing. I would like to know the context in which he said that it was a dump and when he said it.

"Drug overdoses killed more people in 2016 than guns or car accidents — an estimated 59,000 people, according to data analyzed by The New York Times — and are now the leading cause of death for Americans under the age of 50.

New Hampshire has been hit hard, and residents repeatedly raised the issue with presidential candidates during the 2016 campaign.

There were an estimated 470 drug overdose deaths in New Hampshire in 2016, compared with 439 in 2015. In 2012, there were 163, according to statistics compiled by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services."

"not accepting a salary to serve as POTUS."

His $78,333.32 gift makes up just a small fraction of the billions he cut from the National Parks (1st quarter) and the school budget cut of $9 billion, (2nd quarter).  It's just window dressing.

Pharmaceutical drug overdoses  have been lowered in states where there is legalized pot but Sessions has asked for congress' support in going after state-level purveyors and users of medicinal cannabis.

Prescription drug abuse causes the largest percentage of deaths from drug overdosing. Of the 22,400 drug overdose deaths in the US in 2005, opioid painkillers were the most commonly found drug, accounting for 38.2% of these deaths. -

First there was a War on Poverty, 50 years later,  a significant portion of the population is now less capable of self-sufficiency than it was when the War on Poverty began.

Then there was a War on Drugs, 30 years later, The War on Drugs is really a war on people. It is hard to imagine an issue that has caused so much damage to so many people on so many fronts. The domestic War on Drugs has contributed to an increase in drug overdoses and fostered and sustained the creation of powerful drug cartels.

Might as well have a War on Jobs.

How can you say Trump is helping the country with a straight face? He's breaking every rule, and don't tell me "He said he would make changes." There are Presidential protocols and procedures, and even he, in all his idiocy, has to follow them.

The opiate problem is terrible in many states. It's sad, but many people need opiates for severe pain, and they have less side effects than muscle relaxers. This will take a long time to fix, and throwing more people in jail for drugs is stupid, we have more jailed people than Saudi Arabia.  He has only passed legislation to roll back regulations on the biggest polluters in the country, because every day he causes a sensation with his immature tweets. He won't listen to our Generals. There is evidence of obstruction of justice. He fires someone every week. Then he had the nerve to go to WV, where the poor people finally got some healthcare, and wants to take it away so rich people get more tax cuts. Obamacare is not perfect, he never said it was. It was a beginning, which needs a lot more work.

And whenever Trump has no answer, he brings Hillary and his "historic" win back into it. I freely admit he won though, probably because of money paid to the Russians. But it was the smallest Electoral win in recent history. And what about the travesty of "The Mooch?"

You would be calling for the hanging of Obama if he said the White House was a dump. As it was, he was always "uppity." Remember all the racist comments made when he was elected the first time, and people suggested the rose garden would be changed to a watermelon garden? The fact that this racism still exists makes me sick. And the South is 100 years behind the times, or more. LBJ passed the Civil Rights Act in 1965, but when giving people the rights they deserve, they still want to reverse a lot of what Obama did. The LGBT people who have married are worried sick their marriages will no longer matter.

Oh, and The Trumpster changed his mind about taking a salary months ago. Try to keep up.

Melania could have redecorated like other First Ladies do and put her mark on the House, made it a little better. It's very old. I respect her, she's very smart and speaks six languages. Her Husband has made us look weak all over the world. I hope we don't get attacked because of it. Putin is playing three dimensional chess,Trump is playing checkers.

Tax-funded and over-spent money in the first place.
