I know I have only been here for a short time, but I would like to 'take it to the next level'. I want to 'make a go' of this, and I am seeing money trickly in daily now (albeit very slowly), but I'm truly interested in going beyond that.
I want to be challenged.
I want this to work.
I know you hear this every week or so from some upstart newb, but I think I have the potential... I am advertising, attempting to get back links, trying to refine the hubs I have - though getting more new content out is important to me right now.
I know there are many people here who are just out to make money, and don't have time to invest in someone who may not be here tomorrow...
I have read the Hubs people have suggested, I have searched the web and the forums for more information, I've read the 1 or 2 ebooks that seem worth it.
Well, here is my point. Is anyone willing to take on a mentee? I'd like to think I have decent writing skills, I have my own camera, and video equipment if I need to do videos. I guess I would prefer someone who has been relatively successful, but I understand those people spend a lot of hours here already, so I would settle for moderately successful .
This will probably only get "Read this hub" responses, but that is ok, because the more I read, the more I am learning, but I am truly interested in finding someone who is willing to spend a little time on a newb.

Privately message/email me if you are interested. Frankly, I can't pay anything (except maybe some links here and there), so the only thing you would be 'making' from this are the intrinsic (sp)benefits of a mentor/mentee relationship, but if you have the time, (or don't, but are willing to do it anyway), please contact me!
Why don't you head off to the Keyword Academy?
They'll mentor you for a month for a dollar (plus provide a whole other bunch of stuff). After that the price increases, but you can leave before then simply by instructing paypal yourself.
If you can't afford a dollar, just go to the site above and click on their archives, and read everything from the beginning. There's enough material out there to tell you what to do.
There isn't any set formula to this - it changes as the net evolves, sometimes by the month. The thing is to do is keep statistics (I use an Open Office spreadsheet, which is free). Then write lots of material in lots of niches, and track their performance with your spreadsheet. It should be obvious to you with a couple of months which are the profitable niches and which arn't. Trial and error, that's what it's about.
Funny you mention that I just asked if anyone has used/liked/learned from their ebook in another thread. Seems like really solid information.
I will look into more of their services, I didn't realize the first month was that inexpensive.
Are you doing hubs on things you know or topics that you like?
Are you making an effort to make each hub original?
Do you check over the writing you've done to check for spelling mistakes and clarity?
Are you willing to learn how to do some keyword research?
Are you going to make an effort to use your camera and video camera to capture some original content to add to your hubs?
Then you don't need a mentor. You've got the talent and the attitude to make masterpieces.
Yea hell thats what I was thinkin , I think I might need you more
Yes
Stealing is for dummies. If you mean from hub to hub, yes, of course.
To be honest? Not as often as I should. I have pretty good spelling, and my grammar/sentence structure is usually pretty good, but I don't proof read nearly often enough. It is something I really need to do more, and I have been making use of spellcheck on word, even though it pains me, lately.
I am learning more every day, and am probably going to sign up for the keyword mentoring as mentioned in this topic.
Pictures? No problem, and I will make my own videos if I can't find perfect ones on YouTube, but honestly? Does the time spent for video production outweigh not using an embeded video done by someone else?
You could look at that another way and think about using unique videos you place on YouTube to drive traffic to your own sites/hubs/etc. I get several thousand additional visitors coming my way via YouTube each month by emphasizing the link in the YouTube description box.
Additionally there is also the YouTube partner program which lets you display Adsense ads directly onto your video content (although currently there are quite strict conditions for acceptance into the partner program), but could be worth checking out if you like making videos.
No problems with grabbing an existing video. If however you have the gear and the talent, and you have something to say that hasn't been said yet or you can say it better, then go for it.
The Youtube page can have a link to your hub, and you can also watermark your video so that way if others are using it, it's promoting your hubpage. Fresh traffic!
We have been experimenting with making our own videos. So far we have posted one on our website, but not on hubpages.
This has proved difficult for us, but we think it is worth pursuing because most hubbers import video from other sources.
If you can make original videos that are relevant to your hubs this could help you to get higher scores and more viewers and (one hopes) more income.
Time vs. Value?
If you can find something that fits your Hub as good or better quality than making your own videos, is it necessary to make your own?

Hi. I'm hoping someone has a spare five minutes (and a good internet connection) to help me please. Because I live off the grid in the Aussie bush and use a slow and unreliable satellite internet connection, I cannot get a youtube video to load and run to the end. All I get is the first 30 seconds,...

Is anyone making their own videos for hubs?I am almost done making my first one from scratch. I was wondering if other people have ventured down this road. It is pretty time consuming.

I am absolutely distraught. Some of my best hubs contain youtube videos. I have found that anyone logged into hubpages can see my videos without any problem. Today my Dad happened to be looking at my hubs and said "there are no videos here". Stunned, I went onto hubpages and logged out of...

One of our goals this year is to simplify infrastructure and retire features that are seldom used. Deciding to retire something can be tough, but in the long run it is worth it. A leaner HubPages will not only perform better, but will allow us to focus our efforts on the features that are most...

They were there yesterday, and today they are gone. Can I just get them back, or do you think they are gone for a reason?

Hi everyone! I have this question. Is it okay to include videos uploaded by other people into a hub? Example: I have included a video in my hub from YouTube which is not mine. Is this legal? Your help will be appreciated. Thank you.
