How do we recover a hub that disappears while writing?

I was working on a new hub and having trouble copying and pasting a PDF file into it when it disappeared. I had worked on it a couple of times but I had not published it. I did a rewrite and wanted to include a particular PDF. Also, my title was questionable, so I changed the title. Which of these, if either, would cause the hub to completely disappear off "Articles" page?
I have a copy saved in Word, but not the rewrite. I don't want to have to go back and do another rewrite. Plus my photo is gone and I don't want to have to find another.
I heard there was a way to recover a file, but I couldn't find it in the help section

Normally, the content in a capsule when edited and saved does not vanish. It keeps saved in your article as a draft.

If you want to trace it, go to the "My Account" page where all of your articles are listed. It displays all your hubs, whether published or unpublished. So, you can easily locate the article. The draft articles are generally shown at the bottom of your list. So, click that article and you can do your work and then publish it in its full form.

Even when you are unable to save a particular capsule while editing (due to power failure or other reasons), it automatically gets saved in that capsule. So, when you log in to your account again and begin to edit that capsule, it will flash a button for recovering the latest draft that was auto-saved.
This was what I experienced during publishing some of my hubs.

      My brother is right, Miz.

The only difference that I noticed recently, is that the Hub can appear high up the list, rather than the bottom as is usual. In this case, it can be hard to find, but look for the question mark which appears at the end of the title. Buen Suerte!

Thanks, Bro Manatita, for the update to my reply. I may not be aware of recent changes due to not engaged in publishing presently.
But, I am unable to understand why Miz lost her hub entirely as she stated below. It never happened to me.

Thanks, guys, but that's the whole point of my question. It simply is not there. I had a PDF to add and went to "My Account" page. I pulled up the unfinished hub from that page to work on it. I did another edit on the draft, and while I was trying to insert the PDF into the file, something went wrong. I went BACK to the accounts page to pull it up again and it is not there. I checked every one (high and low) on the list last night and then just awhile ago. I have another hub I'm working on, and it is still listed. But thanks anyway, my friends.

Sorry, Miz, to know that you lost it completely. I think it got deleted by mistake.

Even if you delete a hub it will stay for at least 48 hours in your account before it really disappears.

That is the case when one is already previously got published. Not in the case of a hub that is still under construction.

      So sorry, Miz.

The poem is 'somewhere.' Close everything. Re-start your computer and try again. If you use both Internet Explorer and Chrome, switch for this one time and look again. then start from the bottom going up looking for the question mark at the end. usually close to the top after a couple of days.

Anyway my sweet Miz, continue to be happy where you can. Be like the child in your Heart. Have a great weekend and perhaps you can visit my last two poems. Sweet charms... whatever that means. Just another way of offering my Heart.

Aaaargh!  What  an awful thing to happen.  I have lost a Hub in the past, but only when I was writing a new Hub and hadn't saved it.  It should be impossible to lose a Hub you've already saved.  Maybe drop a line to the team @ hubpages.com and see if they can recover it.

Thanks, Marissa, I guess that's the only answer. I had been working on it for two or three days, so it had been saved and was listed on My Accounts page. I did rewrite the title, but I've done that before with no problems to the hub.
