If you are terminally ill, for e.g. diagnosed with cancer, how would you want your friends and...
relatives treat you ?
with normality and sincerity. Maybe it can be an occasion to talk with the heart
I would tell all of my friends to send me a lot of positive energy and support my self-healing process, if I would want to get healed. I would not necessarily tell to all of them what is my health problem, but I would ask for energy support. I would also do my best to find needed natural ways that would help me to heal mentioned disease, at the first place, and I would do it in my privacy .
I would say nothing to that ones who are sceptics, who tend to panic or are negative or afraid of difficult diseases.
Ill person requires emotional support from dearest ones in order to heal, not negativity, sadness or pitying, by my opinion.
I wouldn't tell them. So, I suppose to answer your question fully, I would want everyone to treat me the same, which they would since in their minds, nothing has changed.
It's best to let them know if you feel they can deal with this change in your life. After a good meal or after church or while watching a movie together. You don't want to keep things in the dark unless everyone in the family cannot understand you.
My brother died from colon cancer last month. We didn't know about it until it was at its last stages. If we had known about it sooner we could have helped him. We're not doctors but you'll be surprised that family can be a powerful support when unconditional love is present.
Please read my hub on healthy living and please take this seriously and be mindful of your life and those who are in it.

Thank you and God bless you and your family.
I would want to be treated as if i wasn't diagnose with cancer. If I would to die I wouldn't want other to be sad.
I would want them to continue loving me as a person and not feel afraid to talk about it. Talking about it would help me and them work through the feelings of loss and I'd want them to know how much I love them so they'd have that to remember when I'm gone. Aside from that, I'd want to enjoy every minute of life!
What I would not want is for them to tip-toe around me as though I was fragile in my spirit--I would not want them to be afraid.

I watched the new 2010 movie about Jack Kevorkian on HBO. "You don't know Jack" One of the statements they made was that "If a person goes into a coma, the hospitals are allowed to pull the plug and allow you to die" (if the next of kin signs the papers or the patient has a...
