if god is so loveing, then why did he take my son 16 years ago?
This is a very tricky question to attempt to answer. First I am sorry for your loss, I have 3 of my own and can't begin to imagine the changes with-in me that would take place if one of mine were taken away.
God I would say has a plan of sorts for each of us. God may also have spared him the suffering of what the future may have held for him. There are endless answers I could suggest to you as an answer but that is ultimately between you and God when your time to stand before him shall come. God Bless you and take care, your son is in a better place!
My god sister asks the same thing. Her first child died at birth because the cord was choking the baby. She was so upset that it took her a long time to recover. Since my family is Catholic, we told her that it would have been better that her son died and became an angel at birth or else if the baby did survive the baby would have problems throughout the years. After the death of her baby, she gave birth to three more healthy children a daughter and two sons.
Some questions like these are difficult to answer because who can answer for GOD?
The question to consider is, is your son in a better place than this current place?
The answer is yes, your son got a chance to experience living here for whatever timespan and then transcend to a place where he will be waiting till you get there.
There are no mysteries just what you want; you want to feel better; look at the story from another place and always look at a story that will make you feel the best, this is faith working in your favor.
I am sorry for your loss, 16 is very very young age to go.
All of us belong to God. When we were born, God performed a miracle and created you and me and your son. So first, we must understand that what we get from God is on loan until such times as he wants them/it back.
Just for a moment, instead of wondering why or if God took your son, think about what your son meant to you while he was here. Think about all that you liked and enjoyed about your son. Think about the joy he brought. And if he was in any pain or was suffering or his life was in danger, he is now in a better place. God is a loving God, read about him in St. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him shall not perish, but have everlasting life". God gave his son, Jesus when he was 33 (the bible says), to die for us, to die for our sins - now that's a loving God.
I lost my brother, he was 41 years old (too young to die) this May, he was murdered. -- I am sad about that, but I have used his death to learn and be grateful for the time I had with my brother and the joy he brought to our family.
My prayers are with you! Seek to know God and learn about him by reading the bible.
Each of us have three components. They are Soul, Body and Mind. In most cases our soul was created long before that mind and body. Our soul is aware of all our previous experience. The soul, which is essentially a spirit then asks God for an opportunity to define itself or experience something it cannot otherwise experience as a spirit. The loving God then present an opportunity of life as we know of.
However, our mind and body is what each pick-up during each life. When we are born each of us suffer from amnesia. Our mind is then a product of what we are being told and educated in. This mind may believe in a particular religion. It could Catholic, Muslim, Hindu or even be an atheist.
Our body is a product of what we eat and the genes we inherit in that particular life.
Our Soul is more detached and has it own agenda in life. The mind and body is usually not aware of this. Our soul is not interest in money, power and other things which attract the mind and body. It's main agenda is to define itself through the body and mind. That is the purpose of life.
Birth and death are decided by the soul. God simply assist this process. Death is a spiritual event and in the spirit world there are no accidents. Whether one dies of cancer or a victim of a random shooting at the local convenient store, it was the soul's decision to end life. Your son's soul has completed it mission in this world. God love's is present by giving the soul the opportunity to define itself or an experience it was seeking. For example your son's soul wanted to experience your love for him. For God death is not a punishment. It is loving act to assist the soul in returning back home after its mission.
We are all spirits having a human experience.
I can not answer this question for you.....it may take many years for you to reach a conclusion.
From the death of my own child, I learned compassion, and that death is not the WORST thing that can happen in one's life.
Life is for the living, memories do not fade, but pain does......
I truly, wish you healing.
Death comes to us all........
I'm sorry for your loss, but don't look for superstitious beings for answers, things happen because things happen, I can't even begin to imagine how much pain you are in right now but if there is a God and your son is up in heaven, I'm sure all he wants is for you to be happy, Live your life=)

I've heard that atheists claim that the point of their existence is to leave the world in a better place. As we know, the world is never a better place. Why struggle through life, learn to love and then die? What's the point? Death makes a mockery of life then. If you are a...
