In today society can you picture our cities without the law-enforcement, the police...
officers
seem to be out of control when it comes to the citizens, however can you picture your life without them.....patrolling our streets.... I guess Dodge City is coming to my mind.. what do you all think?
well good point...I think they are necessary for our life, at least most people want to feel someone out there for their safety, don't they?
The peace that we have is as much a function of the faith of the people as it is anything. If all the people of a city fell into the streets seeking violence, the police would likely be overwhelmed. Their presence is a deterrent to crime but their numbers are too small to stand off large scale riot. Hopefully we can keep the faith! WB
Down in my country, a growing percentage of law-enforcers are becoming out of control that the citizens seem to be wary about them when they see these men in uniform patrolling the streets. Although there are a lot more of them who are dedicated and who will risk life and limb to protect the people, the police have tainted image. We need the police to secure our life and property, as they maintain peace and order, therefore it's our duty to help them, too. They can't do the challenging work by themselves.
Yep...people would stop getting beat up for no reason. Arrested without justifiable cause and the crime rate would drop to zero. I'm just kidding by the way.
There is a lot of abuse coming from the justice department in America. One of the biggest problems is folks being arrested over minute things just so the court can rack up money. I've seen it happen a lot through the years. Granted, if someone actually does break the law, they should pay for it.
However, a friend of mine was leaving the bar last weekend when the cops grabbed him and beat him down. He had to have stitches in his ear and for no reason. Bear in mind, I am not taking just his word but several eye witnesses to the matter all told me the same story.
He was leaving the bar and four cops grabbed him, slammed him against a car and started beating him until he was laying there in his own blood. He did not resist arrest. He did not make any threatening motions or do anything wrong, at all according to the people that were there that night including, one of the bouncers.
Ultiamtely, we do need the police, especially in the case of domestic crime but we also need police to be able to act responsibly and get off the power trip their badges bring them. I think all officers of the law should have to have a psyche evaluation done twice, yearly to determine if they are still fit to serve.
Perhaps it isn't a world without law enforcement that we need, but a better class of law enforcers. They say it only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch. I don't think the actions of a few law enforcment officers could ever make me want to do away with all of them. I think perhaps we could have better psycological screening for people wanting to become law enforcment, possibly detering out of control behavior. Greater punishment for those caught acting beyond their scope of enforcment i think would also help curb some of the outbursts. As it is right now, there is no downside to a cop who wants to smack someones head of a car, worst case scenario you get PAID leave for a few months while they figure it out, then if they do eventually fire you, there's usually another department right down the street you can get hired on to.
yup i could but there would be a lot of big fires, rapes , murders and massive caos so i'd rather not.
I think the police work for us. And citizens by and large, are content to sit in their homes and ignore the obvious. Get a group together and go to the press and city council and start demanding change. In lieu of that, carry your own gun if things are too wild.
