   When you look back, what do you see?
   
   When you look back to your past, can you see how it shaped you into the person you are right now? Can you see the decisions that where made by you and others around you that have changed the way you act/think about the world?

   My past childhood is apart of me. My peers and upbringing pretty much shaped my dominant personality.
   
   When i look back, i do feel angry towards people who have said No to me i the things that i want to achieve in life. People who has pushed me and hurt me and patronize me relentlessly. The negative people that made my path very dark and slippery.
   
   Nonetheless those were the things we learn from. Those are the scars that we will carry in our life. Like what chief weber said in grey's anatomy:
   
   "Don't lick your wounds, celebrate them
   The scars you bear are the signs of a competitor.
   you're in a lion fight, just because you didn't win doesn't mean you don't know how to roar."

   Yes I sure can ...I`m thankful for both the pain and the joy...While the pain hurt and confused me I`m stronger because of it, for as I faced it and healed from it I was able to discover the true joy of living free from it by my choice and forgiveing those That because of thier pain and blindness hurt me.
   So that now I can see them for who they really are, just simply hurting people who have never known true unconditional love and that is how we love our enemies as we forgive them by the strenght of Gods love for them as he first loved us by giving the ultimate sacrfice his son.
   
   Today I `m so free and full of life because I have left it all behind where it belongs and am grabbing a strong hold of the the present future moments before they are gone forever.
   
   ok did not see all that coming out LOL
   But then we are writers...:0)

   Yes. I try to acknowledge things that happen, especially the bad  and move forward. However, I try not to look back too often. Someone once mentioned that if you continue to look in the rearview  mirror, you are bound to run into something ahead of you.
   
   I try to use the past storms and dark days to help me to stay focused on a much brighter horizon.

   certainly. The hurdles made me jump higher, the different paths made me walk stronger, the disappointments made me fight harder, and the people I've known along the way have made me laugh harder and love deeper. Life has taught me that I'm a fighter and will do whatever needs to be done to make things right. It's also taught me that I'm passionate about things that are important to me. It's taught me that I'm loyal to the core and will defend to the death.
   My past has most definetely shaped me, the things I've learned along the way are priceless.

    When I look back at the beginning years, I see turmoil and unhappiness, and in the last 40 years I see a loving family that is the most precious thing on earth to me, and when I look between the lines, I see wonderful things, but also a lot of wasted time on my part--things I have left undone so-to-speak.

    When I look back I can trace where I have been to where I am now. At the time I wondered if I was making the right decisions for my life. However, I placed my trust in God and asked him to pave the way for me. I am in a happy place right now so it seems that I made the right decisions and I am quite pleased. I do not have any regrets as I realise every failure was a stepping stone to future success and failure also helped me to make positive changes in my life. Thank God.

    It's amazing how people say that I used to be such a good, nice, smart person - I wonder if they think that I'm none of those things now!
    
    Our perception of what is real changes most every single day that we are living.  I suppose that sometimes senility gets in the way of that, etc.

    A glance at the past shows me some paths I could have taken but did not necessarily see back then...I am happy with the route I've taken so far though (missed opportunities and all),  and I definitely keep looking forward...eager to catch a glimpse of my "better self"...Hello future!
